There was vehement disagreement from a member of my household when the pitching change was made. Turned out just fine, thankyouverymuch. Now get Duran ready for the ninth.

There hasn’t been a shift, the pitchers are just pitching better and using less pitches. Lopez is not in the same stratosphere of Bundy/Archer/Smeltzer.

Dont leave out ChiChi and Happ

Wow, what a performance by Lopez. I think the deal for Arraez is a win-win. If there ever was a guy to extend, I think it should be Pablo Lopez.

I had a 50/50 shot.  But I knew 100% that you would disagree.

98 pitches … don’t think it would have been the wrong decision either way. I was fine with pulling him, I would have been fine leaving him to finish it. But it ended just fine, so it was the right call 🙂

I know the obvious answer to the Gallo IL move is Julien, but I have this small sense they were waiting to see how tonight’s game went for Polanco, with the possibility of bringing him up.

Darn, Lynn is an embarassment, physically.

I take some measure of relief that I too may pitch in MLB.

But they pulled Julien from the lineup, presumably to get him on the way back to the TC

Call me out if I'm wrong, but I don't see it. Polanco hasn't played consecutive days yet IIRC. Julien might only be up for a few days (or Wallner) since Kepler could/should be off the IL after the weekend.

There seems to have been quite the organizational shift in how long you should let a starter pitch. I wonder how much of that was influenced by the revolt led by Sonny Gray?

Zip. The quality of the well prepared starting staff is the answer your looking for.

The first part we know. The second part is speculation (which may turn out to be true).

Hence the ‘presumably’
