He's reportedly starting a rehab stint today with low-A Ft Meyers, playing 2nd base. Targeting a possible return here next week, if all goes well. Let's hope it does.

Great news! Do you have a link?

Add Polanco for Castro vs. RH pitching:

Polanco 2b

Correa ss

Buxton dh

Larnach lf

Miranda 3b

Gallo 1b

Vazquez/Jeffers c

Kepler rf

Taylor cf

Looks a lot better already, with Gordon available in left and center.

I saw it on NBC Sports Edge/Rotoworld earlier this morning, but as has been stated, Seth tweeted it.

This is great news. They need his bat.

A healthy Polanco is a really good player and would lengthen the bench considerably.

sure, then Gordon at DH I guess.....

If Buxton's in CF then there would have been room on the roster for a bat.

Except we clearly can't expect that most days, apparently. I'm trying to be realistic (IMO) here.

Not to derail this good and important thread, but any news related to Kiriloff?

I haven't seen anything since March 29 (official Twins website).

Assuming Gordon for Taylor in the line up against right handed pitching…

How about Gallo in CF, Miranda at 1B and Gordon at 3B when Buxton is DH?

Is Gallo enough of an improvement over Gordon to make up for any drop on the infield corners?

Gordon has played approximately three innings of third base since coming to the majors. To my knowledge, he didn’t play there at all in Spring Training although Miranda couldn’t play third until the last week. Much more likely that Gordon plays center with Gallo at first and Miranda at third.

I didn’t wonder about likelihood. I wondered if it would be better.

No. Gallo is much more of an emergency CFer at this point of his career. Gordon in CF and Gallo at 1B would be the better defensive alignment.

Polanco didn’t play in the Mussels victory last night. Scheduled day off according to the Twins’ website. He will play every other day for a while. Sounds to me like he’ll use most or all of his three week rehab allotment.

Also of note, Winder pitched two scoreless innings for Fort Myers.
