Sielk Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 What the hell was that? Don't see Buck miss a ball like that very often. And of course it costs the Twins immediately. Damn.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Oh brother, we got bad Jax today. Looks like we'll need to break out the high leverage guys. A few more runs would be nice.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I've been harsh on other players so it's only fair to be harsh on Buxton...he has to make that catch, especially when the bat isn't making an impact on the game.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I'm failing to understand why Gordon is out there, and not celestino.

Since his latest ailment Buxton has been bad. Perhaps he should play a few days in a row to try and find a rhythm?

Coaching…. they probably told him to be careful near the wall, they ruined him
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I'm telling ya, Buck is not right. He's looked tentative in the field, and confused at the plate. He's too talented for this to be anything other than he's worried about re-injuring himself, or he's playing while hurt. The Twins need to stop this ridiculous play two sit one policy, and just give him 10 days to get fully healthy. They also need to let Celestino play CF full time even when Buxton comes back. Your CF needs to be fearless out there, and the Twins just can't afford for Buxton to be that anymore.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 It'd be really swell if they could tack on a run or 6 through the remainder of this game...

Azviking101 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 10 day IL time. Get him right. He’s in his own head, Baldelli is in his head. He’s obviously not healthy. Give him 10 days off for his knee and bring him back.
Blyleven2011 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Does anyone know for sure if Buxton is not playing at 100 percent ,,, he's not hitting and his missed catch tonight tells me something is not quite right ....

I think they micro manage him and they’re in his head, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night

He is definitely not playing at 100%, that's why he is sitting so often. That knee injury from a few weeks ago is still bothering him. An article in the Strib yesterday called it right knee patella tendinitis, I believe.

Thanks ,,,, Not an asset to the team then since his knee and hip injury ,,,
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Is Dick serious? Why would you go jinx smith like that
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 There you go, Richard. There’s smith’s first earned run of the year.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Sigh. Smith was going to allow a run eventually, I just hoped it wasn't today. The Twins got off to a fantastic start, but have taken miserable ABs from the 2nd inning on. Buxton's dropped catch looms large. And the Tiger's bullpen isn't as bad as you think. Third best in the league in ERA.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 And this is why you can’t continually get away with needing to fill 5 innings of bullpen work. Someone isn’t going to have it. Both guys haven’t had it so far
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 There's no such thing as a jinx. It's his job to talk about the players and game. He should mention that.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 JOE SMITH HOW DARE YOU ALLOW RUN!!!

Kinda like yesterday how he said arraez hasn’t struck out in x at bats, then guess what. He likes to speak things into existence

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I had a feeling when Smith came into this inning that he'd give up his first earned run... Once Winder is healthy, Archer needs to go to the pen. He'll be better off as a 2-3 inning guy while we can hopefully take some load off of the bullpen.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Great job by Thielbar to come in and shut things down. Going to have to win this one without Duran (probably). Getting a 2 or 3 run lead would be huge.

He’s gonna be right eventually, he does it intentionally though, he knows it annoys people, that’s why I don’t like it
