Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 I wanted Stashak demoted long ago... They'll need to call someone up....not sure who that is at this point.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Anybody here with MLB.TV? They have a stream called “Big Inning” on weeknights where they look in at various games and show highlights. I’m just checking it out for the first time now in the rain delay:https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/big-inningBig Inning? Have they shown the twins yet this year?
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Don't use gameday much and now I remember why. Plesac gone, reliever coughing up the hits, I think Miley still has a no-hitter going but I won't swear to it.
jun Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Plesac gave up three hits no runs in 8 inning and he's gone, Clase couldn't get anybody out in the 9th.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Big Inning? Have they shown the twins yet this year?Colomé innings, sure.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Is the rain stopping?Who’ll stop it?
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Twins game is resuming, according to MLB.TV.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 There are far too many no hitters anymore. Losing its luster a bit
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 4 no hitters already this year* *one 7 inning
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 There are far too many no hitters anymore. Losing its luster a bitAlthough it’s one way to encourage complete games and higher pitch counts...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Nice, and now Sean Manaea has a no hitter going for the A's into the 8th. This is but a side affect of the league's batting average being something like .230.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Sano advisory: .10726 Ks in 56 ABs you could pay me $500,000 and I’d only strike out 30 more times

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Sano advisory: .10726 Ks in 56 ABs you could pay me $500,000 and I’d only strike out 30 more timesWell, it's 71 PAs since he's taken 15 walks, so it's really a 36.6% K rate rather than a 46% one, but both are still awful. He will eventually rebound once his average normalizes to his BABIP, but he's still going to be a .170-.190 hitter when that happens, which is not acceptable for what he's being paid and how long he's been in the league.
jun Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Oh boy our 'closer' Colome in save situation

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 The big guy did make a nice scoop there at first
denarded Verified Member Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 This sounds counterintuative, and I'm a dude drinking beer on my couch, but I think think Sano needs to back up laterally in the batter box about an inch away from plate from where he currnetly stands. I think how close he stands on top of plate makes him eyeball those low outside breaking balls look like a good idea to swing. Something needs to get figured out. I'm done with all the excuses. Striking out half the time is not sustainable. Especially when the ball is put in play with strong contact rarely when you do make contact
