It's not only the call on the Arraez play that this home plate umpire is missing.

Rocco seems like he's always saving his best guys for later, always keeping something in his back pocket. That's great sometimes, but there are other days where you've just got to play your best guys and go for the damn jugular.

Weird day so far, Maeda had no idea where his pitches were going, but when they did hit the strike zone, the Rangers hitters didn't know what to do. I guess that's a step in the right direction for him.

 

If Thielbar can't get the lefties out, then he has no role on this team.
