sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 As April enters on a day of silliness, it stands to reason it ends on a day of seriousness... seriosity? seriodom. It ends on a serious day, irregardless the propper noun form of seriositude. You may well ask "but sampleSize, if we can't tell if someone is sarcastic, how can we tell their being serious???" That is where you are wrong. The truly serious are emphatic and use expletives. And to cut it off at the source, sure all the boring, easy to use ones are banned and even filtered by this site. That just makes it more interesting. Beat the shift, by gum! Dagnamit, hit it where they ain't! Zounds! It is easy if you just go with the goldarn pitch! Now that's out of the way, on to the game. 8-15 team playing a 15-8 team? Looks like we're plum done fur already, eh? A million to 1 shot eh? Well as anyone who's read a discworld story knows, million to 1 shots come out right 9 times out of 10. And welcome back to the squad, Kepler and Garlick! And Rortvedt... Yeah Rortvedt! Is Sano the odd man out? Jumpin' Jehosephat, we got ourselves a line up! Royals:0. Brady Singer (R ) P1. W. Merrifield (R ) 2B2. Carlos Santana ( S ) 1B3. Salvador Perez (R ) C4. Jorge Soler (R ) RF5. Ryan O'Hearn ( L) DH6. Hunter Dozier (R ) 3B7. A. Benintendi ( L) LF8. M. Taylor (R ) CF9. Nicky Lopez ( L) SS Twins:0. Michael Pineda ® P1. Luis Arraez ( L) LF2. Josh Donaldson (R ) 3B3. Byron Buxton (R ) CF4. Nelson Cruz (R ) DH5. Alex Kirilloff ( L) 1B6. Jorge Polanco ( S ) 2B7. Max Kepler ( L) RF8. A. Simmons (R ) SS9. Ben Rortvedt ( L) C I tuckered myself out with all that serious speakin'. I'll let you all have a go at it.
tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Maybe Rortvedt's promotion will light a fire under Jeffers. I hope so. I'm rooting for my fellow North Carolinian to light up Triple A and return to the Twins quickly.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Excited to see Rortvedt behind the plate ... Kansas City has some runners, so he may get a chance or three.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Swap out Rortvedt for a (preferably not awful) Garver and that's a pretty good-looking lineup.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 First time I'm having a look at the Royals. Didn't see them in any ST games. What I have noticed is the top half of their posted batting order, 1. W. Merrifield (R ) 2B2. Carlos Santana ( S ) 1B3. Salvador Perez (R ) C4. Jorge Soler (R ) RFThat's a pretty nice top 4. If 1 or 2 guys lower in the order can hit decently, KC should be able to put some runs on the board.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I'd vote for seriosity, but I think it should be spelled seriousity. My tongue needs that extra vowel in there in order to get re-positioned for that second "s". A guy never wants to fall on his "ess".
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Nice to see Rortvedt in the lineup. I hope he catches on.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Nice to see Rortvedt in the lineup. I hope he catches on.And if he does, let's not trade him for a closer ...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Hey, look, this Ben Nintendo guy is now a Royal!
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 One thing I've noticed about Byron this year is how much calmer he looks in the box. In previous years he seemed anxious and fidgety
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 fun with numbers: For his career, Sal Perez is hitting ..948 against the Twins, with 482 RBI.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Has anyone ever hit louder outs than Alex Kiriloff?
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Kirilloff's gotta get on Buxton's weight lifting routine
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Mrs Chief has been really short with me lately. I finally asked her what the problem was. She gave me a list of the things that I do that make her mad: 1. I don't take her complaints seriously2-10. A bunch of other stuff

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 .970 xBA on that AK flyout...I've never seen anyone, much less a rookie, hit into louder outs this consistently.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 are you sure you're not high with numbers?Yes, I'm sure I'm not high. pity.

Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Jeez! I'm following this game on Gameday and Singer's "sinkers" are all about two feet over the batter's head. How's it look in real life?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 How are we to take official scorekeepers seriously if Polanco's infield dribbler is called a hit?

IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Are you serious, Clark? I am serious. And don't call me "Clark."
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Excited to see Rortvedt behind the plate ... Kansas City has some runners, so he may get a chance or three. I like it. It's almost certain that a team isn't going to make it through the season with two catchers, so he'll probably be up for a looksee at some point anyway. Give a speed team a new arm to consider behind the plate for two of three games and see what you've got.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 9 pitch first AB walk is more impressive than a first AB homer
