cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Stashak with a scoreless inning.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Geez, you are a tough judge. If you took away my 2 most intelligent forum comments, I fear what my median comment value would be. But seriously, league average in the AL so far this season is 4.68, so we must be a little spoiled because I'm feeling much like you are. The lineup feels uninspiring at least for game one today. I should clarify--I removed the highest and the lowest totals to get to the new average. As far as I'm aware, this is a fairly widespread practice used to remove outliers which skew data. 20-30 games from now, there will be no need to do that, as the sample size will be large enough to offset outliers on its own.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Go Luis!(worth a try... sometimes they seem to hear.)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 6 outs... Cutting it a bit close, aren't we?
bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Poor inning from the meat of the order. So now in order to win this game, the Twins will need big hits from Cave, Riddle, Jeffers, Astudillo and/or Kiriloff. Magic 8 ball says: "unlikely".
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Given this team's record in extras this year, I wouldn't be so sure.Unless this post is missing an emoji... It's impossible for the home team to give up a lead in extra innings.

PopRiveter Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 6 outs... Cutting it a bit close, aren't we?They should have an analytics team that tells them the odds are decreasing so they can make the adjustment.

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 It's not possible to go through the bottom of the order without a PH appearance from Buxton, is it? Of course it is. Now, is it probable? I think not.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Who's gonna rip his defense now?!
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I stg if Colome is out there in the 7th...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Kirilloff with the glove.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Credit where it's due: nice catch Kiriloff!

bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Good lord Waddell is throwing batting practice out there. He should absolutely not be allowed to face Martinez right now. This is terrible!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 LH AAAA reliever to pitch to Martinez. Bold strategy, smalls, we'll see if it pays off here. EDIT: not to worry. I know I've had a few, but I made it home just fine.

cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 That being said, cringeworthy inning for Waddell. Lucky not to give up a run.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Boston is 2/14 in RISP, we are 1/7. Not good from either side!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Boston is 2/14 in RISP, we are 1/7. Not good from either side! What I take from that is that Boston has had 14 opportunites w/ RISP, we, 7.
