mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Hey Rocco, its okay to tell the boys to try to put it in play, ya never know what can happen !!
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Watching Kirilloff hit in that at bat....not great, but looked a whole lot better than Cave. Hope he plays both games today so they can get a feel for who goes down after the games. I guess it's still one day too early to bring him up and still set his clock back?Radio guys just made a good point that he hasn't played since ST. I do agree and hope that he plays both games.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Let's do that... ...errrr still got15 outsYou took the words right out of my mouth...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Author Posted April 14, 2021 Is this one of those scenarios that goes something like "one for you, one for me. Two for you. One, two for me. Three for you..."?I think it's more of a 'One for me, one for me, two for me, two for me' scenario ...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Hey Rocco, its okay to tell the boys to try to put it in play, ya never know what can happen !!They haven’t struck out once yet, and it’s not working. With this lineup it’s more of a talent issue.
shortround81 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I HATE losing, but I have to shake my head at how quickly everyone wants to cut Cave, send Kirilloff to rookie ball, and trade Maeda. To quote "The Devil Wears Prada", "I rarely say this to anybody who isn't me, but you need to calm down."
PopRiveter Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Such a bad lineup right nowCurrently 2nd in the AL in runs per game. Just hasn't looked like it yet today.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Such a bad lineup right nowEven a blind squirrell finds a nut now and again. Let's go nuts when they least expect it.

To quote "The Devil Wears Prada", "I rarely say this to anybody who isn't me, but you need to calm down."Agreed about the "cut so-and-so" comments. On the flip side, when a team loses 4 games in a row at home, including a blown 6-0 lead among other things, fans are going to be displeased. Twins fans have a right to be unhappy with how this team has played lately, and frankly they should be a bit peeved.

bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 That catch in left field by Boston vs. Kiriloff's play in left field could be the difference in this game.

bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Incredible AB by Polanco. HUGE! Way to go Jorge!
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Thanks Rocco, seems to be working
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 They won’t give up the lead in the 8th inning today
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Polanco! Strange, with all the shifting, normally squeeking a ball by the pitcher ends poorly.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Currently 2nd in the AL in runs per game. Just hasn't looked like it yet today. This is heavily skewed by the 15 run game and 10 run game. A better metric would be the median, based on the runs scored below; 15,10,8,6,5,4,3,3,2,2 the median would be 4/5, rather than the 5.8 average. If you remove the two extremes it falls to 5.1 runs per game. Still not bad, but the SSS makes average runs a misleading stat right now.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 They won’t give up the lead in the 8th inning todayStill possible, if the Red Socks successfully challange a call...

Twins fans have a right to be unhappy with how this team has played lately, and frankly they should be a bit peeved. Very true. We need to get our bullpen/pitching management down. The four in a row doesn't scare me a ton in April, especially considering how hot the Red Sox came in. For what it's worth, and I know this was 30 years ago, but back in 1991 they went 9-11 in April and had a 6 game losing streak.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 They won’t give up the lead in the 8th inning today Given this team's record in extras this year, I wouldn't be so sure.
