Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Not bunting buxton was fine when the pitcher can’t throw strikes to save his life, but you can’t flail away at bad pitches either
umterp23 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 huge breaking ball to buxton and he could have sat back and drove it the other way. looking to pull the ball and thus not looking to cover the zone. Not good baseball
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 Twins refusal to play small ball (ie: a Buxton bunt in the last half inning) has once again cost them runs. The arguments against bunting a runner over there are completely invalid. This is a 1-0 playoff game and your team has lost 16 straight. They’re not completely invalid, especially in the fifth inning.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 The game has evolved because the bullpens are being used in the 6th inning? How about devolved?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 And so Buxton swings again at the 1st pitch, At this point I'm in favor of whatever ends the misery in the fewest pitches.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Well we see Sano is Faster than Cruz anyway!!
TFRazor Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Be interested to see if they send Valdez out again after that inning.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 huge breaking ball to buxton and he could have sat back and drove it the other way. looking to pull the ball and thus not looking to cover the zone. Not good baseballactually, he could have put that one in the LF seats.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 18 years since someone came through in a big way in the playoffs. 18 bleeping years I was 14 last time the Twins won a playoff game... painful.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 3-1 fly outs are great
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Be interested to see if they send Valdez out again after that inning. He'll face Rosario at a minimum, is my guess.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Shame our 96 million dollar man isn't in the lineup.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Optimal outcome on a 3-1 pitch.
TFRazor Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 That's a homerun in Houston.... Thank god we were better than they were
dex8425 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 May looks sharp. 2-3 of those pitches are usually strikes.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 you rang?Rrrrrrrrrrrrr. Trevor May answered the bell.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 It annoys me this broadcast is refusing to show replays of check swings.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I was 14 last time the Twins won a playoff game... painful.I was wrong, it’s been 16 years since a big hit...Jacque Jones Homer off mussina
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Roll May right into the 7th. That was easy.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I was 14 last time the Twins won a playoff game... painful.Being 14 wasn't a bad time for me. Coincidentally, it was when i last lived in MN as well...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Nice inning for May, even with no Ks.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 MLB is doing this series a disservice. Games on in the middle of the afternoon. Commentator basically telling the audience to go watch the Sox/A's game... What a shame.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 Have to believe we’ll see May again. Talk about a low effort inning.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I much prefer facing this lineup than the one we usually see in the postseason
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Looks like the Twins got Good May today. That's enough of Trevor for my blood pressure today.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 It annoys me this broadcast is refusing to show replays of check swings.ESPN used to be the best sports network, not anymore
