USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Rocco didn't have a very good game, did he?
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I mean, he's a lefty, but it's not like our righties had done much against that guyAnyone would have been better than Astudillo.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Well... 17. Right up there with 56.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 17 playoff losses in a row. SEVENTEEN think about thatCouldn't do that if you tried. That record will never be broken - unless we break it tomorrow night.
Primetime82 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 This was the worst coaching performance I have ever seen in 38 years of watching sports! This team is run by a bunch of morons. Who’s decision was it for Donaldson to not play today? What kind of man can’t play with a little calf pain/ soreness?? Get real. Get your ass out there and play. Pitching Romo and Theilbar is quite possibly the funniest thing I have seen in along time!!! Then pinch hitting whatever that guys name is LMFAO LMFAO
bighat Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Anyone would have been better than Astudillo. We all knew it was a long shot, but hard to blame this loss on Willians.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 I don’t agree with several of Baldelli’s moves in this game but ultimately, the players were pathetic at the plate. He can’t go out there and give them life. Buxton and Cruz in the 8th were particularly bad.
Whammy Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 We all knew it was a long shot, but hard to blame this loss on Willians. It was just so perfect... we let ourselves literally think, 'tying run up to the plate", then Astudillo grounds into a double play on the first pitch.
Battle ur tail off Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Rocco didn't have a very good game, did he? I mean, no, not really. But an even AA performance at the plate today and take that error away and it's a W without question. Even with the terrible hitting, our starter and bullpen basically gave up 1 run in 9 innings. This game is on the pathetic hitting and that humongous lazy style point error by Polanco.

I don't know if I have ever seen a player look like that in a dugout.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 They can assure all they want that they are not affected at all by this 17 losses in a row, it's a lie. As soon as the game was out of hand they have no trouble getting two hits. Only for Astudillo to ruin it. Why him? Yes, he makes contact, but all for easy outs. Was a terrible decision to pull Jeffers in the first place.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Totally embarrassed to be a fan of these chokers right now. Everyone in the lineup and on that coaching staff is a choker. Can't get a big hit, can't make a simple play, can't make the right freakin decision with your pitching lineup, can't have any plate discipline after 2 straight walks. This is the reason why the franchise has lost 17 in a row. It's not the opponent and it's not the umpires. It's the people wearing the TC's on their hats.

You can take that to the bank. This is the classic Twins downplay of an injury to not piss people off or give up their hand. He will not be back this season if they advance. Book it.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 There wasn’t one guy who did a good job today except for Taylor Rodgers.
Krabby5 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 The only thing that cheers me up is knowing that the streak has absolutely nothing to do with the Yankees. You can clearly see that today. We are a very sad team. Probably the worst streak in all sports. Probably?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 There wasn’t one guy who did a good job today except for Taylor Rodgers. That’s not fair, Maeda was brilliant given that **** strike zone.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Was a terrible decision to pull Jeffers in the first place. One of many boneheaded decisions that Rocco made in this game. In a tight game, you want your best catcher back there and that's Jeffers. It's not like Garver showed anything in his week back from the IL that lent any sort of encouragement that he'd be a grand contributor.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Start Kirilloff tomorrow. The Twins played like a minor league team today. Might as well play a top minor league prospect
Twinfan603 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 If Berrios doesn't go at least 6 strong tomorrow, they're toast.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 That’s not fair, Maeda was brilliant given that **** strike zone.I guess. He was ok, hard to go Only 5 innings and be brilliant. Would have wanted one more inning out of him. Could have made it so that romo never got in
Primetime82 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Why didn’t Maeda come back out for another inning?

Can anyone name a player that has made this drastic of a possible career ending descent? It's like he's literally a different person. Weird.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I have no faith in Berrios tomorrow. Especially if today's offense shows up

Can anyone name a player that has made this drastic of a possible career ending descent? It's like he's literally a different person. Weird. The guy had beyond a career year so early in that career and there's bound to be regression. He also was nowhere close to a lot of pitches this year. We all kinda thought that there would be a little bit of comedown from last year's Bomba bonanza but it's happened to more than one in the lineup.
