LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 That was a very tough play. Brooks Robinson might have made it.I doubt it , he’s 82
howeda7 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I don't really blame Sano on that one. That was crushed. Tough play.Though I agree that the defense does need to improve. It was tough. But an above average 3B makes that play. Maybe even an average 3B. We don't have one.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Our defense will cost us this series. They need to address it for next year. Sano cannot be at 3B. Sorry, that is not a routine play for any third baseman

Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Could be worse, gang. Four more chances.

David HK Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Welp. It seems, historically, that whenever we get into these big series with the Yanks, certain guys who've done certain things well all year long choose their moments to not do those things well. Cron has been picking the lights out of bad throws all year, but this one gets away- and not that bad a throw. Littel has been a cool cucumber in big situations, but looked- and pitched- like a scared little bunny out there. Still a lot of game left. Hopefully, another member of the cast doesn't choose their moment, too.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Good job Duff. But now what do you do? Burn through May, Romo and Rogers in a game you're down 2 and leave yourself hard up tomorrow? Or try and roll with Stashek/Gibson?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Garver still isn’t right. With a late afternoon game tomorrow and a RHP, I would bet Castro starts.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 We have assisted the Yankees in every run they've scored. Plays not made, throws not made, non competitive walks. Starting Arraez over Schoop. It's been a team effort.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Sorry, that is not a routine play for any third basemanSure. . . . In slow motion it was.

A hot shot mid hop to the back hand, playing off the line. You've never played 3rd base have you? Yes, that's an above average play.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I have no idea why people listen to sports announcers. The games are much better to music. Much. Alas, no vendor at the home show I am working this weekend can broadcast the game to the many TVs.....

Krabby5 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The Twins are just as good as the Yankees, they just don’t believe it, that’s their problemMaybe full strength...too bad they had so many injuries this year. And one awful suspension. Yankees are much better right now unfortunately. Twins will have to play unbelievably good to win the series. And that Includes pitching and defense.

bighat Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Dudes its a 5-game series. This isn't a wild card game. The Twins can lose this game and things can still be okay. Heck they are just down 2 runs! Let's not go down this depressing road where we start posting about how horrible every guy on this team is. This team can still win this series.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Good job Duff. But now what do you do? Burn through May, Romo and Rogers in a game you're down 2 and leave yourself hard up tomorrow? Or try and roll with Stashek/Gibson? You stay with Duffey. You gotta hang zeroes and see if the Twins can bang one out.
Blake Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Author Posted October 5, 2019 Only 2 runs down. This squad doesn't give up.
