PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I'm glad that the Tigers got the message that this is really a AAA game. Oh, wait. This is the same lineup they've been using all week.
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I ate too many nuts celebrating! I'll be reclining on the bench today!

This is the same lineup they've been using all week. Everyone can just play loose today... Twins clinch the central, and Tigers clinch the #1 overall draft pick!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 The Twins do have one thing to play for... World Series home field advantage over the Braves. We are 1.5 games ahead of them at the moment... which means only the Dodgers will have home field advantage over us.
wabene Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Smeltz isn't helping his chances. With the Astros and #$@*anks lineups it's going to be tough for a lefty to get a playoff spot. Perez nah. It's been rush hour on the basepaths with either Smeltz or Thopedo. Of the three I would pick Thopedo.
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 So I went to the Cleveland fan forum (like this one, but for losers) to say a couple of things, but their site $ucks so bad I just laughed at it. Ours is far superior to theirs, as is our team....
big dog Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Yeah, would love to Smeltzer have a few shut-down innings and help his chances of making the roster. Let's make that the toughest possible choice.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Smalley is telling a story about the '87 Twins coming home from Detroit and detouring to the Dome. They were told there were 5,000 people at the Dome hoping to welcome them. Then they saw every overpass jammed with people waving at the buses. Then they got to the Dome. They walked from the darkness into the Dome and heard 60,000 people roaring. Roy's choking up telling the story.

big dog Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Wait, when did the Twins last steal a base???
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Wait, when did the Twins last steal a base??? Probably the last time Buxton wasn't on the IL.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Wow, Zimmerman held the ball to make Miller call time. And lookit there- Miller gets a hit and an RBI, just like Bremer called it. Congrats!
bighat Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Great call by Dick there! 1st MLB hit for Whatsisname!
big dog Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I vote we send Miller. Let the kids play!
big dog Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I get that we clinched and everyone's hung over if not still drunk, but we're batting a dude with 0 career hits lead off?Miller is an RBI machine- should have hit him third!
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I vote we send Miller. Let the kids play! 4 games to make the Yankees starting worrying about our running game ...

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I'm late to the thread, but I can't help but notice that today's line-up has scored more runs in 4 innings than the A lteam line-up did in the first 6 innings of the first two games of the series. So there.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 In case anyone was wondering? Jason Castro has 13 hits in his last 79 at bats!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Wait, when did the Twins last steal a base???August 20th!
Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Twins have 27 steals on the year with one today, the next fewest amount by a Twins team was 32 in 1963 (same team that had the home run record previously). Can they steal six more in three plus games with a piranhas lineup? Three Senator teams did steal less, so it's not a franchise low.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Sure would like to see Arreaz get that ball at second. Smeltzer pitching batting practice against the worst offensive team in MLB. Not a good sign for the post season roster.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 When I saw the “Miller singles home Torreyes” update, I legitimately thought for a split second that the other team had scored.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Nice hit Miller!!!!
