So this game is meaningless.   At the beginning of the season, all I hoped for was for the Twins to be playing meaningful games in September. And then this happened.   We can't win enough games to cat

Historical fact I assume: No team has ever had 248 HR's sitting on the bench

Smeltz isn't helping his chances. With the Astros and #$@*anks lineups it's going to be tough for a lefty to get a playoff spot. Perez nah. It's been rush hour on the basepaths with either Smeltz or Thopedo. Of the three I would pick Thopedo.

So I went to the Cleveland fan forum (like this one, but for losers) to say a couple of things, but their site $ucks so bad I just laughed at it. Ours is far superior to theirs, as is our team....

Yeah, would love to Smeltzer have a few shut-down innings and help his chances of making the roster.  Let's make that the toughest possible choice.

Smalley is telling a story about the '87 Twins coming home from Detroit and detouring to the Dome.  They were told there were 5,000 people at the Dome hoping to welcome them.  Then they saw every overpass jammed with people waving at the buses.  Then they got to the Dome.  They walked from the darkness into the Dome and heard 60,000 people roaring.  Roy's choking up telling the story.

The Twins do have one thing to play for... World Series home field advantage over the Braves. We are 1.5 games ahead of them at the moment... which means only the Dodgers will have home field advantage over us.

I like your way of thinking!

Twins have 27 steals on the year with one today, the next fewest amount by a Twins team was 32 in 1963 (same team that had the home run record previously).  Can they steal six more in three plus games with a piranhas lineup?  Three Senator teams did steal less, so it's not a franchise low.

Sure would like to see Arreaz get that ball at second. Smeltzer pitching batting practice against the worst offensive team in MLB. Not a good sign for the post season roster.

I didn't know we stole a base today!
