yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I really do appreciate Gibson making himself available. But the fact is the results are terrible when he comes in as a reliever. I get that the confidence level on Hildenberger, Harper, Kohl and Alcala is pretty low, but IMO that is not a good reason to have Gibson do something he isn’t good at and something that seemingly negatively impacted him for a handful of starts the last time he did it.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Schoop owes the team a Homer here.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Schoop owes the team a Homer here.Yep, Eddie made up his misplay. Now Schoop should follow suite.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Astudillo will never want to catch Gibson again. Astudillo needs to learn how to not look away from the ball, especially behind the plate.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Saw that one coming a mile away.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Astudillo needs to learn how to not look away from the ball, especially behind the plate.Yeah, the Cleveland broadcasters said exactly this and chalked it up to his lack of experience.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Schoop owes the team a Homer here.Schoop usually does little when game is close.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Yep, Eddie made up his misplay. Now Schoop should follow suite. He followed it by striking out 2nd time in the game.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 The Twins are gonna win the division, no doubt about it. I’ll give Rocco the benefit of the doubt here. The Twins didn’t need a sweep, the Indians did. Fans panic, good managers don’t
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Lamonte Wade is the 16th different player to hit a homerun for the Twins this year. I’m guessing that is not close to a record.
70charger Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Schoop is a butcher out there today.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I know **** happens, but ****, that's some bad ****.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 For F's sake, Schoop.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 He followed it by striking out 2nd time in the game.I am watching the game and saw he didn’t do as I directed him to.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 It will be nice not to watch Schoop anymore. Obviously Gibson is not pitching Wednesday. So bullpen games Wednesday and Thursday?
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 That was NOT a difficult catch to make. Tailor made double play ball absolutely butchered. AARGH!
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 At least Rocco made it so Gibby was unavailable for the next three years.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Right to the shortstop.... oh. There isn't one there. The amazingly effective shift. Just giving away runs now.....
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Schoop, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts, 2 key errors. I would like this guy off playoff roster. In fact I don't want to see him again in Twins uniform.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 maybe next year eddie can trade in his old 2b glove for a 1b mitt?I like it
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I like how the pitcher's pace is responsible for fielding errors. Commentator expertise. Yeah, right.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Now that’s what should have happened the previous play.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I wouldn't mind seeing Schoop hit his meaningless homers elsewhere next season.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I wouldn't mind seeing Schoop hit his meaningless homers elsewhere next season.meaningless homers, lol
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 And there was a hit right to where a second baseman would be, but the shift to the right side, a shift that is supposed to make it even harder to get a hit to the right side..... but it even makes that a play that couldn't be made.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 And there was a hit right to where a second baseman would be, but the shift to the right side even makes that a play that couldn't be made.shift is here to stay
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 shift is here to staySo are valid observations.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 maybe they'll win it in the ninth. and maybe there's a logical explanation. but if you get a two-run lead on the one team chasing you -- and there are only 12 outs to go -- you move in for the kill. you don't put out the call to aaa followed by a guy with inflammatory bowel condition.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 So are valid observations.only valid in the past, shift is here to stay
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 only valid in the past, shift is here to stay thanks for calling me invalid. i appreciate that.
