Game Thread Twins @ Indians 9/15/19 12:10 PM CDT

[stringer bell]

Good morning Twin fans! The Twins go for the sweep against Cleveland this afternoon. The Twins swept a day-night doubleheader to take a 5.5 game lead to give them a big edge going into the last two weeks of the season.

Today Randy Dobnak gets the ball first for the Twins with the expectation that there will be many relievers. Cleveland counters with All-Star Shane Bieber. Advantage Cleveland, but they had the edge in the pitching matchup earlier in the series. The starting lineup features a couple of surprises--Araez at DH, Austudillo catching, Jake Cave (back!) in right field and Ronald Torreyes at short. Health remains a big concern for the club.

Twins:

Arraez dh

Sanó 3b

Cave rf

Rosario lf

Austudillo c

Schoop 2b

Wade cf

Cron 1b

Torreyes ss

Dobnak (0-1) p

Cleveland:

Lindor ss

Mercado cf

Santana 1b

Puig rf

Kipnis 2b

Reyes dh

Allen lf

Perez c

Flaherty 3b

Bieber (14-7) p

Insta-game thread!

Just add what? er... water. that's it.

Thanks Mr. Bell!

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Can somebody get through to Sano before he hurts u

ah just kidding

[mrtwinsfan]

Sano - what the hell was that ???

[stringer bell]

Three hits, no runs. Not good!

[jz7233]

3 hits and no run in one inning. Astudillo needs to learn to take a walk if not seeing a strike. I don't want him on post season roster.

[70charger]

This is a fairly brutal lineup today...

You may get your wish.

Let me think on it.

[stringer bell]

C'mon Dobnak!

[sampleSizeOfOne]

If we keep getting as many hits as outs, we might score eventually.

[hybridbear]

I thought Berríos was supposed to start... what happened?

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Seriously though, it’s an interesting lineup.

Not quite clinched yet, Twins brass. Stranger things have happened.

But I think we posters can start enjoying the games now the way they should be enjoyed.

[PDX Twin]

Well, three blunders so far in the first inning.

[70charger]

Ugly half-inning. Gotta tighten this up.

[hybridbear]

Two errors in one inning...

[stringer bell]

C'mon defense!

[mickeymental]

season is over.

[PDX Twin]

season is over.

They are playing like it!

[Richie the Rally Goat]

I can’t choose! But I will refrain from football talk...

[Richie the Rally Goat]

Way to wriggle out Dobby!

[stringer bell]

Four hits already. Maybe Bieber isn't sharp today.

[Twodogs]

They are playing like it!

I think after sweeping the double header yesterday they are now in the driver's seat for sure. I know I'm fairly confident now. Prob time to get some of those injured guys a little rest.

[Nine of twelve]

That is the best way to avoid being tagged out in a rundown.

[Richie the Rally Goat]

Sanoooo!

[70charger]

More of that, please.

[PDX Twin]

Sanoooo!

Well, he's a net of zero now after giving away (at least) a run on the bases in the 1st.

[tvagle]

A-Stud so far today has been A-Dud...two chances to get a knock have not looked good

[jz7233]

Astudillo just has no plate discipline at all. He is an easy out.

[mrtwinsfan]

Nice to see Cave back, looks good so far,  Marvin ??   need him also, seen all of Cron we need to and come on Tortuga, -
