Given that our last 10 are against the royals and tigers, you have to think that 1 more win against them buries them this year

To win against their best pitcher with a patchwork, bullpen effort is a big surprise and shot in the arm. We can just hope that we see the good Berrios tomorrow (regardless of what happens later today) and leave Cleveland with a 4.5 game cushion. Given the weakness of our coming schedule, that should be enough even with the injuries that are still hindering us.

Doesn't win the Central, but man, it sure makes me breathe a little easier getting a win in the first game of this series. I've been seeing flames falling from the sky for the past week.

Thrope v Clippard in Game 2.  Seems Cleveland going with a bullpen game as well.  Should be interesting tonight. I hope Rocco goes with the A lineup.

Mike Clevinger indicated in his postgame press conference that he wasn't surprised by Jorge Polanco's 2-run home run (1-minute mark). "After last year are you surprised?" Polanco was suspended 80 games for PEDs in 2018

A little salty Mike?

At least it looked like he washed his hair.

It's kind of strange seeing Rogers in the dugout. He probably spends less time there than anyone else on the team. In the majority of games, he sits in the bullpen, maybe comes in the pitch, and then the game's over.

Not necesarily. Back in the days of the Dome, Aguilera said he usually stayed in the dugout until after the 5th inning.

I mean, what he said wasn’t necessarily wrong but a horrible time to say it being a professional athlete

Not sure I understand this.   Does he think Polanco is still on steroids or that the steroids he took two years ago are still the difference in hitting home runs now?

Hard to believe the Twins went from "No, not the bullpen!" to "Bring in the bullpen!"

Even better, there are some arms left in the pen for the evening game.

Nothing like pitching in a pennant race and, simultaneously, auditioning for the post-season.

Except pitch tracker had a solid circle. So, according to that, it clipped the bottom part of the zone.

yeah you’re right, all bad calls go against the Twins, seriously that ump was the best at calling balls and strikes that I have seen in quite a while

There's sadly a taller task in the rotation for next season. I hope they don't ignore the starters this offseason like they did the pen.

Lewis "Throwpedo" Thorpe for the, win?

*Not original with me, don't remember who came up with it. Maybe Ash.

I'm not sure I want to open up this can of worms, but I do wonder (especially after Pineda) how many teams and players are able to game the PED tests. When a team has multiple players who are outperforming expectations, I can't help thinking that maybe its training staff has come up with something that either isn't yet illegal or cannot be detected in the tests.

The one and (so far) only time I was at Target Field was in 2016 against Boston, who scored about 15 runs and had pretty much every starter hitting .300 with power, even though some were rookies and others had never done that before. I couldn't help speculating on whether they were legitimate or not.

Braves Charlie Culbertson , squaring to bunt took a Fernando Rodney fastball to the face, even though Culbertson did not attempt to bunt the ball the first base ump called it a strike, talk about a bad call

nothing professional about it, his offense scored zero runs, can’t win with that .. fittingly Clevenger is the loser
