LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 He picked a bad year to acquire E. Colii know, he’s your guy I hope you can root for him next year, just so he’s pitching for someone else
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I wish Gibson would spoken up sooner about his problems. He would have had more time to recover and the Twins could have traded for a healthy starting pitcher. Is that what happened? No one knew this was a problem, at all? Until recently?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Pretty good cut for a guy with ruptured hydraulics in one of his bionic arms...
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Morneau, this lineup is built for power, ?????????????, not tonight Justin

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Tom Brady never asks to be the highest paid; in fact this is one of the only years he's taken a raise. He'd rather win than make more money. Nelson Cruz took less money to go to a team he thought he fit in with better. Lots of athletes do it. It's the fact that he wasn't trying to go to the best team (Yankees) and would only sign with a team that offered him the most money.First of all -- Corbin signed with a winner (#4 payroll in MLB, 4 stars/superstars, I think top ~8 in MLB wins in every 2+ year period dating back to 2012), so maybe your cousin's roommate's brother's insight into his thought process isn't fully complete. Second of all, Tom Brady probably makes a lot more (endorsements, etc.) by re-signing in New England and continuing to win than chasing a larger contract with, say, the Jets or Dolphins or whoever. Third, Brady has been collecting big paychecks -- salary and endorsements -- for a long, long time. Cruz already banked $85 mil in his career before he signed with the Twins. There's really no way you can compare them to a guy like Corbin in his first crack at free agency. I'll bet that Cruz probably got contract offers from better "winners" than the Seattle Mariners in the 2014-2015 offseason, but guess where he signed his one big contract? Fourth, judging by recent MLB FA markets, I really doubt Cruz took much (if any) less to sign with Minnesota too. That's probably a better narrative than it is grounded in facts. Fifth, shouldn't we be happy that a guy didn't sign with the Yankees?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 He hinted he was hurting, but they let him play through it/ not to start a tangentBeen busy getting back into work after a long time off ... so have missed reading a lot. Just curious. And, well, a tad irresponsible to leave something that serious hidden from your employers ... imho ... not to start a tangent ... just want gibby to do well
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 not with the infield at DP depthand Soto is quick
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 meh, he’s not my guy per se, though I think posters are typically too harsh on himBecause the Twins think he’s their number two and he’s barely a four?
kydoty Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I was just asked to be on the big screen and name as many Peanuts characters I could in ten seconds. I turned it down. And I would’ve won. Oh well.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 CRUZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Gibson had been seriously sick. Calling him a bum is inexcusable.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 What is the meaning of that? Perhaps less money to work with, and it seems like the feature film comes falling on us...

LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Gibson having the kind of night where FSN should tell us if the pitch count graphic is for the game or just the inning.
