Question: Is there any point in putting Gibson on the IL given that rosters are at 40? Does this, for example, open the door to replace him on the post-season roster (assuming he is not back yet) with someone who was not on the roster on 8/31?

Even though I'm guessing that Rocco won't do that, I hope Big Mike at least starts the 7th. We'll need him to be able to do that once the playoffs start.

 

Right now, he'd be my choice to start game 1, regardless of the opponent.

I think he's more likely to pitch in the 7th of a post-season game if he *doesn't* do it today. Save that arm!

This question was answered in the Gibson to the IL thread. Putting him on the IL allowed them to recall Thorpe before the 10 days was up from when he was sent down.

According to their advertising, what Dysons do best is gathering dust.

Indians now losing 8 to 2 in the bottom of the 8th. Twins still need insurance runs.
