Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Would you give Pineada 2- years and 22 million Right now ????Yes
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I am glad the Bomba record is over,, Just wish Bremer would deal it down a bit
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Would you give Pineada 2- years and 22 million Right now ????I think you'd have to give Pineda at least $30M on that deal if you want to give him a competitive offer. There's going to be plenty of demand for him.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Bremer is not good at analogies.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Is it just me, or is Dick being extra him today? The "not hard enough to crack the shell" comment; the "disaster" that was the fan keeping Pujols' 2,000th RBI ball; crediting Tortuga with a "good catch" for backpedaling 10 feet to catch a pop-up. Or maybe I just haven't had the sound on enough recently.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 This inning is SOOOOOO much more fun than home runs!Obviously worked out because Rosario made the first and last out...oh, wait... What in the world? No idea why I quoted this comment. Eh, I'll leave it up, try again.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Anderson probably told Turnbull “just keep pitching to contact, eventually you’ll get three outs”One more time: Obviously worked out because Rosario made the first and last out...oh, wait...
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Bremer is not good at analogies. So you’re saying he’s kinda like a 4x100 team of Sano, Cruz, Turtle and Big Mike?
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Nice 5-ball walk from Sano.

No commercials to listen to, no Dick and Bert...(Bert really seems to be mailing it in lately, almost like he's planning to call it a career.)

jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Heh. I have the sound off today. No commercials to listen to, no Dick and Bert...(Bert really seems to be mailing it in lately, almost like he's planning to call it a career.) I'm almost wondering is Fox Sports North is retiring him. I was getting tired of him until it started looking like Smalley would be the most prominent replacement for him. Now I've realized just how much worse it could be.

I imagine it was not a big deal between them but it sure came across otherwise on the air.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Looking at the Twins September roster... I like the look of that pitching staff. Grats, Smelt, Thorpe all up. Littell, Shak, Dobs... that's a pretty well-rounded bunch. Merit is served.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 The SS kind of double-clutched on the throw on Arraez' grounder. If he would have thrown as he stepped on the base instead of taking another couple baby steps it would have been a DP.

No commercials to listen to, no Dick and Bert...(Bert really seems to be mailing it in lately, almost like he's planning to call it a career.) I'll be really surprised if Bert returns next year. He's in the Hall now and I think that keeping his profile high was one reason he kept at the broadcast gig. They have auditioned half a dozen replacements this year and some of them are pretty good. I expect that some combination of Morneau, Smalley, and perhaps others will take over next year with Bert in the booth no more than a couple of weeks, if that.

They seem to have fun together.

I like Morneau and Smalley better than any of the rest. I wish they'd have two analysts as often as is feasible and have Dick there only to describe the plays that need describing. On the few occasions they've done that in the past it seems like the conversations between two actual baseball players have been great.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Bert was really pissed at Anthony, it showed in his voice, UP YOURS ANTHONY---

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 And Smalley's. That guy is terrible. We'll have to agree to strongly disagree.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 And Smalley's. That guy is terrible. I don't mind Smalley and I did like his questioning pitch selection, which I thought was pretty good insight from the hitters side.
