operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Danny Santana's really flashing the leather today!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I'm not so sure about Perez in the pen. Maybe, but walks are the last thing you want out of a reliever, and his splits aren't good pitching from the stretch. So bringing him into an I nong with runners on seems like trouble.and by "I nong" I meant inning.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Anyone miss Lynn ?yes, those who have Dish or Sling.

I don't know either. But... He has stuff and we need someone with stuff and a left hand in the pen.

Strangely enough, walk rates with relievers (last I checked at least) were up pretty significantly league wide. I'm not disagreeing in that I'd prefer to see those limited, but it seems the league has moved to high K low contact guys and don't mind a few walks as a side effect.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I don't know either. But... He has stuff and we need someone with stuff and a left hand in the pen. right now I prefer him to Berrios in the rotation.
twins1095 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Anyone miss Lynn ? Yes - if not for all of the extra outs the Rangers have given us Lynn would be well on his way to 5-6 innings and looking like he'd shut us out.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I don't know either. But... He has stuff and we need someone with stuff and a left hand in the pen. Last I checked all of our relievers have a left hand.

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 2 outs for Perez again in the 3rd,, another walk coming ?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Last I checked all of our relievers have a left hand.Even Jim Abbott had a left hand
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Polanco does that alot- Bobble

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Andrus breaks up the No No. Time for the pen?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Even Jim Abbott had a left hand I still find it impressive that he managed to have a big league career... I know it wasn't his pitching hand he was missing, but still...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Better third from Martín. Probably not really a game thread point, but I think his option is a no-brainer to be renewed.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I still find it impressive that he managed to have a big league career... I know it wasn't his pitching hand he was missing, but still...meh. He was a pretty weak hitter.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I think what Smalley is trying to say is that Kepler hit that too high.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Sano showing Kepler how to hit one off the top of the wall.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Weird but true: Rangers player Willie Calhoun and former VP John C Calhoun are not related.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 and by "I nong" I meant inning.Google translate sez it means "bullpen sucks" in Mandarin.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Did that double by Sano get more than 30 feet above the ground?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Still clinging to a 2-0 lead entering the 4th. cbu I miss anything?
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Nice hit by Sano. Lynn has thrown a lot of pitches -- time to take advantage.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Watching Rangers broadcast...very impressed with Sano.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Still clinging to a 2-0 lead entering the 4th. cbu I miss anything?According to Roy, we’re also winning time of possession. So we’ve got that going for us. . . which is nice.
