Game Thread "Godot" Twins @ Rangers 2:05pm cdt 8/18/2019

And with that free pass to Polanco, Lance continues to play his role as “walker, Texas Ranger.”

[mickeymental]

meh. He was a pretty weak hitter.

abbott's career .095 was considerably better than dean chance's .066.

[Riverbrian]

Better third from Martín. Probably not really a game thread point, but I think his option is a no-brainer to be renewed.

Yeah probably but maybe shouldn't be. I have a personal thing against commitments to mediocre.

However... with 3 arms to find... I assume they will try to avoid making it 4 arms to find.

Sano showing Kepler how to hit one off the top of the wall.

the key, apparently, is having hang time measured in microseconds, rather than minutes.

[Don Walcott]

Heads up running play? Who ARE these guys?

'Fess up... You've had that joke in your pocket all season, no?

[mrtwinsfan]

Rosario 6 runners left on so far= wow  least he got 1 in

[diehardtwinsfan]

small ball!

[Don Walcott]

And a productive out!!

[Riverbrian]

Did that double by Sano get more than 30 feet above the ground?

For accuracy... I'm trying to imagine 30 feet in my head.

It's not working because I can't get past thinking it's 15 people and 150 Toes.

[Riverbrian]

Still clinging to a 2-0 lead entering the 4th.

cbu

I miss anything?

Depends on what you were aiming at.

And something like 27 left hands.

[diehardtwinsfan]

Not to Brock... think your add content could use some work.. Seeing adds for Sandy Alomar bobble head promotions in Cleveland.

[Riverbrian]

Watching Rangers broadcast...very impressed with Sano.

They can't have him.

[stringer bell]

With his comment about a four-game sweep, Bremer just jinxed the Twins.

Updating Circus Boy.

I guess i missed another run in the next inning. And our time of posession advantage.

Did we get any sacks?

[IndianaTwin]

You’ve been talking to my wife, haven’t you?

Speaking of saving up lines, I played in a golf scramble this week with my son and two friends, one of whom is a Cleveland fan.

After my son crushed one down the fairway, I dropped, “Wow, that looked like Max Kepler teeing off on Trevor Bauer.” After another, it was, “I don’t think even Trevor Bauer could throw it that far.”

Advantage: Twins fan.

Some book says 4 feet good.

So that would be 7.5 good.

seems rather personal, but yes, Mrs Chief and I still get frisky occasionally.

What's our record against the jinx?

Pfft. Dean Chance raked compared to some. He was ranked as the sixth-worst hitter according to this:

Directions: Apply a thick layer over the effected area. Be careful to make sure the product gets into any nearby nooks and crannies. After two innings wash the area of application with warm water. Not for Oral use, if any side effects occur such as headaches, night sweats, cheering for the Packers, uncontrollable cursing, consult a witch doctor immediately.

They can't have him.

And to think a couple months ago a bunch of us thought he'd be fine trade bait.

[USAFChief]

Odd fact: Rangers catcher Jeff Mathis and crooner Johnnie Mathis are not related.

[PDX Twin]

Lots of seat numbers showing behind the plate today.

Just one but it looks like we will be OK.

[stringer bell]

I haven't heard Smalley on color commentary in a while. I think he's pretty good. I like that he is able to point out players' weaknesses, and add some possible solutions.

I still think so, but I might hold out for a pretty big fish.

[USAFChief]

Shift happens.
