If I were the Rangers, I would be squawking loudly from the dugout. Manager would get ejected if it was me.

 

Teams are collecting the data. They are Ivy leagues types. At some point they will analyze the data and then present the findings. 

 

No matter what the data says, they will meet resistance from the remaining old school types .

 

Eventually the wall comes down and BOOM... Automated Strike Zone.

I'm not sure that would be true at all. It seems like there are as many balls called strikes as the other way around.

 

And it would be quick and transparent. The plate ump wears a watch that indicates the position of the pitch, and makes the call just like now. He could overrule in a bizarre situation.

I guess I was under the impression that the pitchers would benefit. The umpires seem to rarely call the high strike.

Just want to say “thanks” for regular elements in the Game Recaps. It’s so nice to be able to bop over and get an instant look at the rest situation for the bullpen.

 

And I like what Rocco did last night and today. Looks like the plan is again for Romo at the bottom of the order and Rogers at the top. Never know if it will work out, but it’s a good plan.

Pitching is all about disrupting the batter. Anything that makes the game more predictable, even slightly, has to be in the batter's favor.
