So I stopped by my regular bar on the way home from work tonight, figured I needed a little, uh, extra courage for the Yankee series.

 

Well, as I'm walking in, a nun in full outfit confronted me. "Alcohol is the right hand of the devil!" she said to me, sort of loudly I might add. Forcefully. "You should NOT be frequenting this establishment!"

 

"Look, sister," I said. "I just wanna have a beer or two before I go home. It's not a big deal. You live your life, I'll live mine."

 

"The devils work, is what alcohol is," she stated. "A drop of liquor will never tough my lips!"

 

"Well, sister, if you don't mind my asking, how do you know alcohol is so evil if you've never even tried it?" I asked.

 

"Evil, I tell you. Evil."

 

"Tell you what, sister. Let me buy you a drink, and if you still think it's evil, well, then we'll talk again."

 

"I could NEVER," she said. "And I certainly can't go into a bar."

 

"OK, I'll have the barkeep send it out here, and I'll tell him to put it in a teacup, so nobody will know you're drinking."

 

"Well," she said. "I suppose it would be best if I knew exactly what I was talking about. OK."

 

To be honest, I was just happy to get away from her. I hustled inside, and asked the barkeep to send a teacup of whisky out to the sidewalk.

 

He laughed, and yelled to the bar owner back in his office. "Sister Kate is here again."
