The two ex-Senator franchises square off in a final session before recess.

I will be content if none of our Senators decide to take the mound only to fillibuster.

I almost typed Sano-torros just because.

As the saying goes, "Go bid or go home." Since we are home, that only leaves one option. I think i'm okay with that.

Things to think of:

Miller's Crossing - closing lines of opening scene:

"Tommy, you know i don't like to think."

"Well think about whether you should start."

The Secretary will now call the roll:

Washington Ex-Senators: absent

Texas XX-Senators:

0. Jose Leclerc (R ) P

1. Shin-Soo Choo ( L) DH

2. Willie Calhoun ( L) LF

3. Elvis Andrus (R ) SS

4. Nomar Mazara ( L) RF

5. Joey Gallo ( L) CF

6. A. Cabrera ( S ) 3B

7. Rougned Odor ( L) 2B

8. Danny Santana ( S ) 1B

9. Tim Federowicz (R ) C

The Minnesota XXX-Senators:

0. Kyle Gibson (R ) P

1. Max Kepler ( L) RF

2. Jorge Polanco ( S ) SS

3. Nelson Cruz ® DH

4. Mitch Garver (R ) C

5. M. Gonzalez ( S ) LF

6. Luis Arraez ( L) 3B

7. Miguel Sano (R ) 1B

8. J. Schoop (R ) 2B

9. Byron Buxton (R ) CF

The Floor is now entertaining motions.

Team's been winning with Kep leading off, but dang, Arraez is still hitting over .400. Why not put your highest OBP (by a mile) guy first?

I will say that pitchers have found a hole in Arraez's swing: With two strikes, he's a sucker for a curve in the dirt, right down the middle. He's waived at a few of them just in the last few games. Obviously he doesn't want to get beat by a low strike while just standing there...it's a tough pitch to lay off, and not every pitcher can throw it to look like a strike before it ducks down. Also, it's not like other guys don't get fooled by that pitch, which is why a good splitter is worth several million bucks per year.

Oh, well. Skol Twins!

The Twins have gone 9-10 to almost get back to their high-water mark of 25 games over .500. Remember the past, oh, decade when we would have been doing cartwheels over 9-10? Now we're almost bitter at the very idea of it. Are we already spoiled?

Survey says: Expectations are very high for this team.

So, yeah.

Good Gibson or bad Gibson today?

One out in the top of the first and it already feels like the game's an hour old. As long as he gets outs, he'll stay Good Gibby.
