How do you not hold that foul tip!

I just checked the replay...The ball was sneaking out of the catcher's mitt and Garver's bat hit the ball on the follow-through of his swing and knocked it away. I don't know of any rule that covers that odd occurrence.

Wow -- watching MLB Network and Jake Merisnick just leveled the hardest blow on a catcher (Matt LeCroy) that I've seen in a while. Called out on replay, and I'd not be surprised if a suspension results. At the least, Merisnick is going to get decked next time he's up.
