Here's my idea: Leave Gibson in into the 6th. Let him suffer when he's hitting 125 pitches. Don't penalize a weak bullpen coming off11 IP last night. Let them get some rest. I'd rather lose a game than gas out a pen that could take a few days to heal. Or bring in Poppen now. 3 runs isn't going to win this game

When you can’t bear down and get freaking Brock Holt and Bradley Jr. out when you’re fresh in the second inning....it’s over.

Don't abandon ship just yet.  We still have 8 whole innings to hit.  Geez, watched 17innings last night and we came through.  Unless your playing the ol' reverse psychology..

Our bullpen should get plenty of rest in Kansas City!!!

He couldn't quite bring himself to admit that "So far in this series there must have been at least six or seven routine fly balls that I totally false alarmed as potential home runs"

Just watched Gibson enough to know when he has it when he doesn’t. Don’t think our offense is playing particularly well right now. Our defense in general has been sub-par lately. We have Cave, Arraez, and Astudillo playing up the middle.

 

It’s just an observation that I don’t feel great about it. Anyone being honest would say the same. Honestly, I expected a sweep (see 2nd game thread pre-game) so we’re already in the bonus. Not an attempt at trolling. We’re not going to win them all, and Boston is a better team right now with our injuries. We need Buxton back. Nobody’s abandoning ship.

Actually, I have to agree with him (even though he's from Staples!) that the Twins have reached the track over and over in this series. Maybe this is just repayment for a few that eeked over the wall earlier in the year.

Do Twins hitters think when they're down 0-2 the pitcher's going to throw them a strike? I don't get these 0-2 swings when over the past 100+ years of this game pitchers historically never do that.

Don't forget, Mauer, Morneau, and Kubel basically said it's virtually impossible for lefties to hit a HR in Target Field. Maybe this first half has been a crazy anomaly.
