Game Thread: Twins vs Red Sox, 6/18/19, 7:10 PM

Will the Twins ever score again? Or will 1 or 2 runs beat us every night?

yes

no

[drock2190]

Chip Mauer would have had that

[twinsbaby]

Again, Red Sox uses 1 hit to score 1 run. Very painful.

Even more painful is that it looks like an insurmountable lead.

[Darius]

And here I thought a two- out hit with RISP was illegal. I guess the ump missed that one.

[Aggies7]

Did I hear correctly that there was no BP today?

[twinsbaby]

Another 89mph meatball opportunity, Cruz hits GB. Sucks.

Eddie. Eddie.

Twins need their bats to wake up, zero runs yet and just about half way through this series

Relax, It'll ll work out.  Name a Twins hitter right now you would enjoy pitching too...other than Cave.

Wasn’t because of the weather—perfect day here

[Aggies7]

Yay! A clutch hit!

Cron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job by making contact.

Brand new ball game!

squeaky wheel gets the grease

[PDX Twin]

I feel like there should be a dwarf screaming "A RUN ... A RUN!!!"

[twinssporto]

LOL!!! That doesn't count. They can pay me half of what they pay you and I'd do it.

Ask for one of these, too

A combination of elite contact skills, but not good control of the strike zone. He’s a keeper though. He’s got baseball sense and it looks like he can catch well enough to make a decent MLB career of it.

Agreed he has a valuable skill, that is clearly elite.  However, that skill does him no good if he can't ever figure out how to harness it in productive ways.  Like a sprinter with world class speed who can't stop false starting; if Willians can't figure out how to force above average major league pitching to come into the zone, his legacy will be that of an intriguing statistical anomaly that ultimately provided little value.

[David HK]

Wow, Cron!

Great piece of hi.... GOD I hate that phrase.

And Bert (who uses it on average 17 times per broadcast) is not even on the crew today.

[twinssporto]

I'd like the Twins to erupt with 15 runs this game just to teach these AL East teams a lesson.  Just a wish but I would love to see it.

I'm a pretty easy going guy, so, um, OK.

[nicksaviking]

I feel like this is tongue in cheek. Unless Bill Smith is GMing somewhere I don't know about?

Maybe half tongue in cheek.

Most trades involving a team giving up several players tend to include a Jake Cave or two.

SAVE BIG MONEY AT MENARD’S

They save big money on advertising because they've had the same campaign for about the last 40 years.

I'd probably hit my arm on the thing, and go on the IL.....

Sliding head first doesn't work!? Somebody call Nick Punto!
