A decade of mostly bad Twins baseball prior to this season means that team identities in games like this one transcend the familiarity of uniforms and player names, and force me to constantly remind myself, "The Twins are the good team".

It's sort of like remembering to drive on the other side of the road in the U.K. and Japan.

Sort of hard to believe the Twins are beating up on a team they should beat up on.

I got in a little trouble in Japan for that.

I keep waiting for the hat to drop with this starting staff... 20+ years of Minnesota sports fandom does that to you. It hasn't happened... And I'm very confused.

I hear ya. I removed myself from this place for a couple years. I became a twisted old cynical man watching this team.

However, I never stopped appreciating the scrappyness.

Still so weird watching Gardy walk out there in a Tigers jacket

He's like the baseball version of The Major in 'Soap', but instead of being confused about what decade it is, he's forgotten what team he's on.

This start by Odorizzi was HUGE!

With Pineda and Stewart going tomorrow, we may need to lean on that bullpen. Pineda has been a 5 inning guy and who knows what you get out of Stewart. Not out of the question that we may need to squeeze 8 or 9 innings out of that 'pen, hopefully we can keep that to 6 or 7.

The Twins have scored 6 runs without hitting particularly well with runners in scoring position. Hopefully they are saving the clutch hitting for games when it matters.

Am I the only one who thinks the Tigers need a rebrand? Their colors and jerseys are blah

Interesting. When I was a little kid. I was Imagining what teams I would want to play for, because I thought their uniforms were the coolest. I came up with Detroit for baseball, Chicago for football, and I would have sold my first child to play for the North Stars.

Yeah. The language barrier and cultural differences in humor make those close calls harder to have a mutual laugh about with the local prefecture police.

And as an aside to anyone with kids or siblings considering military service, maybe relay to them that if they're going to pass out on a lawn in base housing after an especially hard night of drinking in Okinawa, despite its beautiful landscaping the base commander's yard is an especially bad choice.

That's... what I heard, anyway.

When I was a kid I would sit on the toilet and debatw whether I would play for the Vikings or Twins. It was usually decided by what season it was. I am not kidding.

Yup. This game feels like ti should be 12-0 right now.

I lost my Dad this year, but when I was telling him about my trip, and all the places we partied in Tokyo, He drug out his old footlocker and provided advertisements circa 1955 of the same places.

If you read between the lines, it sounds like the Twins plan to start Stewart in one of the games. But that doesn’t mean he’s the 26th man. It seems more likely that the Twins would demote someone to make room for Stewart, bring up someone else as the 26th man (Duffey seems most likely) demote Stewart after his start and promote someone else. Too bad Nick Gordon has never played 3b. This could have been an opportunity for him.

Luis Arraez has been splitting time at 2b and 3b...

Until Marwin or Sano is back, why not?

I'm reading that Romero might be demoted. Has he pitched in back to back games before?
