gil4 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 So far it's a step up from last year's bullpen, brought to you by the makers of Prozac.Prozac? I thought it was Arsenic. (Maybe that was 2016.)
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Great defense there by Eddie. By Jesus it's never easy with this 'pen.
snotboogie Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Started 0-2 on first 4 batters.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Mr. Rogers' neighborhood is full of birds.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I question giving the intentional BB there, no room for error now.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Worst HBP I've ever seen awarded.I don't see how New York could overrule the umpire on that one.
Tovar12 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Why did we walk the bases loaded? Now we're faced with this 3-0 count
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Way to catch the outside of the plate by a stitch to keep from walking in the tying run. Good Lord. On a related note... Happy Easter!
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Had to step away from the keyboard for a bit. What'd I miss? I see they won.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Get the brooms, boys!!! Gonna be really fun to see the bullpen tomorrow night.

gil4 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 It almost fell apart when Gameday did this to us: At least they only made us throw one extra pitch after we got him out.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Better for the BP to be just barely good enough than to be just barely not good enough.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 I don't want to say that my wife has more confidence than me, but she got out the broom after the double in the ninth. Then I realized she was just cleaning the garage.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I question giving the intentional BB there, no room for error now.... or walk, or base hit.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 These wins may be even bigger in Sept.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Twins go 6-4 in the first ten, and are 6-3 in the second ten.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 So, I see a concerning problem evolving involving Adalberto Mejia. He didn’t pitch in the double header. He didn’t pitch today. Hildenberger and Rogers threw in excess of 20 pitches both days. That doesn’t work. That’s how guys get overused. I get that Mejia has been sketchy to say the least. He’s had 3 poor outings, 3 good ones and one meh. Clearly, Baldelli has lost faith. Bottom line: he either needs to be used or he needs to be removed from the roster. Not using him is simply not a choice.

I understand the overusing part, but with the way Meija has looked, I would want him no where near a 0-2 run lead right now, as they had in Game 1 yesterday and today's game. Game 2 would have been an ideal time to use him, but they went with Romero...who was only up for the day, and Duffy instead. Meija and Parker both haven't pitched since the 17th. A 4 game absence from a reliever isn't completely uncommon with 8-9 man bullpens.
