ashbury Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Belisle to Gibson: "your hanging-curve-fu is weak, Grasshopper."
RaoulDuke Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 This has got to be the worst retirement party ever, hopefully he at least has a cake waiting for him in the clubhouse.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I thought this was a Dire Straits thread. You may have missed the left turn at Telegraph Road. Then go south. Follow the sound of the horns. They're blowin' that sound.
Shaitan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Didn’t I read here somewhere that Belisle would be released if his ERA went north of 8.00? It is 7.98 now so it could happen yey this inning.I guess it's him or Field on the mound right now...
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Always good to see the other team having more HRs than the Twins have hits.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I'm starting to seriously question which is more frustrating; this season or Belisle still having a roster spot. That's like choosing between the lobster and the cracked crab. Can't we just have both? http://static3.businessinsider.com/image/51cc6f4b6bb3f7b07e000003-800-411/tp17.png

tvagle Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 This had to be going through Belisle's head when thinking about that Edwin blast Here I am again in this mean old townAnd you're so far away from meAnd where are you when the sun goes downYou're so far away from me

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Also, we might just be witnessing our final Twins outing for Belisle. Fingers crossed. He's had games like this before, when we were still ostensibly in the race. I'll believe it when I see it.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Solid first PA for Field. I'd like to see more contact like that.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Hmmmm. Be. Lyle. Be. Li. El. Hmmmm. Nope, can't find a way to pronounce that that I like.....
mickeymental Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 twins could make good use of jose reyes.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Garver is pitching... so much for Field...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 They didn’t put forth much of an effort for tonight’s game, did they?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Why have your hoped to be regular catcher catch when he can pitch? This is wacky.
Shaitan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I guess it's him or Field on the mound right now...Nevermind. Seriously, why not just throw Belisle back out there for another inning at this point?
tvagle Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Best move tonight was batting Dire Straits leadoff Belisle's last thought.... And I can still hear his laughter and I can still hear his songThe man's too big, the man's too strong
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 did someone type Garver is pitching? Seriously? Does the MoY have no care for the future, or for feelings? OTOH, it is possible he asked to pitch at some point....but I don't know, maybe Drake could go in? See what he has?
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 This is a #### jokeYou mean this entire season right?
tvagle Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 MoY saving his bullets for tomorrow's duel at Progressive Field...can you call it a duel when only one combatant shows up?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 More. E. Son. Mo. ReSe. On. Mo. Re. Son. Nope, can't find a way to say that one that I like either....
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 You mean this entire season right?Well yeah, but this whole using a position player to pitch. It happens way more than it needs to. I get that the game is lost, but it’s more of a sideshow than anything.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Bomber Belisle-- Pleez team release him NOW You're making the same mistake that everyone, including me, had been making since he re-entered the building two months ago: you're assuming that his presence on the roster is predicated in some way on his getting major league hitters out well enough to contribute to the team somehow. It's pretty clear now that it's not.
