yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 So, I have to think that Mejia and Hildenberger get optioned out to be replaced with fresh arms tomorrow. When is Romero eligible to be recalled? By Thursday?
Fritzderkat Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 14-9!And here comes Belisle.I understand there are relatively few people outside of Minnesota who care about this team, even fewer who bother to look at them at all, but if you happen to be anybody new who chances to casually tune in today, you'd have to laugh.Other days, too.I admired Molitor greatly as a player: The Ignitor. Not so much here.
ScooterDance Provisional Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Belissssslllleeeeeeeeeee The nuts.
ChrisKnutson Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I’m so done with this team. Begin the fire sale, with 2019 in mind.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Wow Belisle I'm impressed!

rdehring Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 This is just plain ugly! Yes, the heat is brutal, but aren't both teams playing on the same field? Maybe it is time to put the 26th player option in effect for all Interleague play as well as double headers? Although half the season remains, I don't know if the players we should be getting in the next week to ten days (Polanco and maybe Buxton) will make that much of a difference. So when do we start thinking about next years draft and how high our pick can be?
jun Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Well Matt B saved Hildenberger. Hildenberger: 4 hits, 4 BBs, 5 runs allowedReed: 4 hits, 4 runs allowedDuke: 4 hits, 1 run allowed This is just brutal.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I wouldn't put too much stock into today's pitching performances, it looks incredibly hot.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I’m so done with this team. Begin the fire sale, with 20129 in mind. Edited for optimism.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I wouldn't put too much stock into today's pitching performances, it looks incredibly hot. That would be the weather, I take it. If our pitching is hot and still gives up two touchdowns, I'm going to rethink my summer viewing habits. In all seriousness, they just said Kepler is out with heat exhaustion, so yeah, tough day to be out there.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 At least the answer is clear this year
curt1965 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I’m embarrassed by this exhibition of terrible baseball......
jun Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I wouldn't put too much stock into today's pitching performances, it looks incredibly hot. That's the attitude of this team. That's why they keep losing. They keep finding all the excuses and move on.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 So, now that’s 4 guys out from the heat.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Players dropping like flies. It’s almost like Baseball hasn’t been played in the summer for 150 years
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Sorry i am missing such a fine pitching duel. I hope we can still eke out another run to take the lead again...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Players dropping like flies. It’s almost like Baseball hasn’t been played in the summer for 150 years Imagine how far behind they'd be if they hadn't been working to the point of dropping dead from heat stroke.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 So no cubs have had to come out due to heat? What gives?
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Oh boy, the range of that outfield!
Blake Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 The bats break out and the pitching implodes. Sigh.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 So no cubs have had to come out due to heat? What gives? None of their players are on the trading block. Can't afford to damage our guys' resale value.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 So no cubs have had to come out due to heat? What gives? Almora came out with cramps, which could well be the heat.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Almora came out with cramps, which could well be the heat. Wasn’t aware of that
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Morrison, Astudillo, and Grossman. More than just rain drops.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Players dropping like flies. It’s almost like Baseball hasn’t been played in the summer for 150 yearsWhat happened to "nothing but rain"? Flies aren't supposed to drop. Will other teams come up and say "Excuse me, but your fly has dropped." Could be a mite embarrassing... But i suppose there are worse things than embarrassment.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Oh boy, the range of that outfield! If our newly converted center fielder with the body mass index of spent uranium calls for a fly ball, I'm guessing the corner guys let him take it.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Would it not have made more sense to move Adrianza to CF, Astudillo to 3B and Escobar to SS? Brutal outfield right. Tough conditios no doubt, but it's kinda odd.
a-wan Verified Member Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Let us see how everyone who is being snarky does, when they're outside when the on field temps are hitting something like 110 degrees.
