Platoon Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 So Sano doesn't PH with a chance to tie???????????? Had the same thought, that was the only practical chance. I know it's lightening in a bottle, but he isn't going to hit one sitting on the bench.
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 I wish Grossman would have taken that pitch--on Gameday it was in the exact same spot. Would have been fun to see the outcome. Especially if Kepler and Molitor and argued over it. Instead, like the rest of the team, Grossman just accepted his fate, swung, and hit it.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 well, it was a "quality start" ...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I wonder what the count is of Molitor removing a starter immediately after the starter gives up a go-ahead hit.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 This team could really use Gardy back. Really only to lose his temper and get tossed once in awhile. At least that's entertaining to watch.
gocgo Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Soooo....we couldn't hit in Detroit and now we go to Cleveland. Has a team ever been shut out 3 straight games? Perhaps no-hit 3 straight games?
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Apparently the name "Ted" had fallen out of favor with parents in the 90s -- I can't find any of them still playing. One would think that Williams would still be able to hit better than some of the guys we've got, but he's on a bit of, uh, a cold streak.Let's not lose our heads over this.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 We lost again. Hollow, all is hollow. Naught but dust and dry bones.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Let's not lose our heads over this. That's one frigid joke right there!
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I was on the "it's early, don't panic" bandwagon for a long time but it's time to admit defeat and realize this is nothing more than yet another development year. I really thought that the 11 game home stand plus these 6 road games would tell the tale - win 10 or more and there's a chance. With this turd burger the Twins are now 7-7 in the first 14 of the 17 and the chances of sweeping Cleveland are zero, especially with Kluber pitching Friday. Time to sell of the spare parts not around next year, extend the ones we want, and bring up the kids. Open Forum - what do we do; buy, extend, sell, fire? Extend or sell if can't extend - Lynn and Escobar. Both worth keeping if we can, both worth something if we put them up for trade. Sell for whatever we can get - Dozier, Grossman, Morrison. Sell, but only for a good return - Odorizzi, Duke, Reed, Rodney. Buy - catching (Wilson Ramos, fantasy is Realmuto), RH hitting OF. Promote if possible - Busnitz, Gonsalves, Littel, Gordon, maybe Curtiss - there isn't anybody else who deserves the shot right now. Keep Cave in the maojors to see if he cah hit consistently. LaMarre and Wilson go down to make room. Majors or Minors? _ Sano and Kepler. Probably keep them up for now but it may be time for one or both to go back and rediscover how to hit if they can. Fire - Sadly, time for Molitor to go. Good guy, good manager if you want ot contend. Probably not the guy to develop young talent. Thoughts?Contraction?

Han Joelo Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Sano optioned, Cave down too.Really? Or just wishful thinking? I just realized Hicks and Goodrum combined to tie the game. Geez.

Han Joelo Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Really. Sano to Ft MyersWell then. They must plan on attempting to rebuild him completely.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I am typeless.....Sano to a ball?

My thoughts exactly. Titanium leg and all. Also, if I had walk up music, it would be something like that sweet 70's style action music. But I suspect this is more of a "Fall Guy" type of situation.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I have a titanium femur, sort of, doesn't help with hitting....

Platoon Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 There has to be a disciplinary message here for Sano. That said I never thought he would be sent below AAA ball
S. Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 There has to be a disciplinary message here for Sano. That said I never thought he would be sent below AAA ballI would prefer they discipline him behind closed doors and have him work with the best available coaches and trainers instead. And I feel like it is a safe assumption that the best available coaches and trainers are not the ones we have with our high A affiliate.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Yeah, they'll win the series, instill a modicum of hope and then...I can only assume the Twins have the Orioles next, or Royals. Someone really bad they can lose to.Probably true, except that the next series is against the BoSox.

Not only are the Miracle housed there. So are the GCL Twins, the team made up primarily of first time pros. And their roaming coaches all use Fort Myers as home base.
