The Grossman tag was a horrible baserunning decision. He was already in scoring position, in a tie game, and the fly ball was out two. Grossman runs like a man dragging a plow. There is some advantage to being on third with 2 out vs on second, but not much. If the throw was on line, he's out by 3 steps.

Rosario's gamble paid off in a run, with 2 out, and Adrianza due up. I don't think the throw gets him even if it's on line.

Nope. Great running. Perfect time to take a chance and now players will be forced to respect the aggressiveness. Could force errors in future

Hicks is more of a first baseman than catcher these days, he's only caught 7 times this year.

That still counts. He can put the tools of ignorance on so it's the Gardy 3 Catcher Special.

I don't love to see that it was so hard for us to hit Blaine Hardy, a spot starter, until the 5th inning, but I do like to see the Twins capitalize on a bad bullpen. Berríos was great once again. Rosario was the player of the game. The lineup is still a quagmire without Mauer and Sanó, however.

Would you still agree if he were out by 6 steps after a decent, not great throw?

I made it home in time to watch that play.

If he would have been out... I would've said it was a bonehead move.

He wasn't out... so I'm saying it was genius base running and I'll high five him.

15 pages to catch up on. I stopped at page two and decided to work backwards instead.

Thumbnail sketch: Berrios gave up two runs early, there was much growsing in the comments over the inability of the Twins to hit another lefty who throws softer than Bartolo Colon. Berrios puts up zeroes, Twins chase the lefty starter, huzzah and then win it on a walk, daring baserunning play by Rosario who capped off his night by snagging a hot line drive against the left field wall.

There was much rejoicing and some "what the heck was that that Rosario did" after the win.

You gotta believe Doc... You gotta believe... He can lower that ERA and it starts tomorrow.

I'm an optimist at heart, so I always have to believe. Unfortunately, wouldn't take much to have faith rewarded. 3 runs in 5 IP. (Shudder)

But the problem is he can lower his ERA by giving up 4 runs in 6 innings... it's not hard to lower a 7.47 ERA.

And I think he can do it!!!
