Maybe I'm just a fan, but for every bad play he might make, I swear Rosario makes 3 or 4 great plays!

Yes but you need to do that when you make little league throws

I liked “cmon 9’s it’s just baseball”

I also heard "DO YOUR JOB!" from that guy too, before he walked back and softened his approach and became more encouraging.

I make fun of Rosario's...adventurous nature sometimes, but I will say this: that was a fantastic baserunning play. He totally deked the CFer out, caught him totally flat footed, and I think he scores even if the throw is on line. I give the man his props when he deserves them.

I disagree. It was stupid and he was fortunate the throw wasn't near on target. Just like Grossman tagging to third, it's a good way to run yourself out of a big inning making risky plays. Both those guys were out by a mile with even decent throws.

In hindsight, it's better he did it because Adrianza has little hope at the plate with 2 outs.

That was some horrendous fielding though to be fair. With the bases loaded why in God’s name would he hold the ball? Just awful.

But he read the situation and saw the nonchalant attitude of the OF who expected the easy out.

I agree to disagree. He caught the CF by surprise which is the reason the throw was bad. He forced the defense to make a mistake.

Agreed. I just accidentally deleted that post, but I don't think it was a smart play. It worked with a nice deke, but pretty risky just like the Grossman tag.

Because there was no need for haste. Everyone knew nobody was tagging.

Heck if he threw it anywhere he would have been out. He just held it like a goof

I don't disagree, but I'd still say it was unnecessary.

Would you still agree if he were out by 6 steps after a decent, not great throw?

Already up by a run, with 2 outs, and Adrianza and Buxton due up. Exactly the right time to take a chance.

The Grossman tag was a horrible baserunning decision. He was already in scoring position, in a tie game, and the fly ball was out two. Grossman runs like a man dragging a plow. There is some advantage to being on third with 2 out vs on second, but not much. If the throw was on line, he's out by 3 steps.

In contrast, Rosario's gamble didn't just gain a base, it paid off in a run, with 2 out, and Adrianza due up. I don't think the throw gets him even if it's on line.
