DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Great catch!!! Do they give game balls in baseball like in football? He won this game! Dozier's Glorious Hair and Nine of twelve 2
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Man that was a fun game!! Dozier's Glorious Hair and Nine of twelve 2
AZTwin Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 The Grossman tag was a horrible baserunning decision. He was already in scoring position, in a tie game, and the fly ball was out two. Grossman runs like a man dragging a plow. There is some advantage to being on third with 2 out vs on second, but not much. If the throw was on line, he's out by 3 steps. Rosario's gamble paid off in a run, with 2 out, and Adrianza due up. I don't think the throw gets him even if it's on line.Nope. Great running. Perfect time to take a chance and now players will be forced to respect the aggressiveness. Could force errors in future bighat 1
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Would you still agree if he were out by 6 steps after a decent, not great throw?Like I said, Rosario caused the bad throw. Your scenario didn't happen and it was because of Rosario's play. Dozier's Glorious Hair 1
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Would you still agree if he were out by 6 steps after a decent, not great throw? If he starts for home, and sees the CFer recover and get off a decent throw to the plate, he has time to go back to third. DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Didn't see the whole game, to be fair, but the last 3 innings were filled with great pitching, patience, hustle, and some great defensive plays. We should all be smiling! Hosken Bombo Disco, Puckett34, Dozier's Glorious Hair and 2 others 5
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Hicks is more of a first baseman than catcher these days, he's only caught 7 times this year. That still counts. He can put the tools of ignorance on so it's the Gardy 3 Catcher Special.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 proving humor is subjective! Twins win, 5-1. Book it. Close enough!!! Hosken Bombo Disco, jkcarew and Blake 3
jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Also...in 4 at-bats tonight, Sano hit 3 balls to the right side, and 1 up the middle. Two were struck well. We can only hope he is consciously trying to make some adjustments. (He DH’d) DocBauer and Dozier's Glorious Hair 2
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Wasn't so tired, I'd go grab me some KFC just to celebrate!

jtkoupal Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I don't love to see that it was so hard for us to hit Blaine Hardy, a spot starter, until the 5th inning, but I do like to see the Twins capitalize on a bad bullpen. Berríos was great once again. Rosario was the player of the game. The lineup is still a quagmire without Mauer and Sanó, however. bighat 1

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Would you still agree if he were out by 6 steps after a decent, not great throw? I made it home in time to watch that play. If he would have been out... I would've said it was a bonehead move. He wasn't out... so I'm saying it was genius base running and I'll high five him. Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Oh crap, hate they just showed Lynn starts tomorrow. You gotta believe Doc... You gotta believe... He can lower that ERA and it starts tomorrow. Dozier's Glorious Hair 1
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I think Bremer got it right when he said that Rosario is one of the most interesting guys on the team.Eddie Roasario, he doesn’t always make good decisions, but he always makes the game exciting. Stay thirsty, my friends Don Walcott, DocBauer, adorduan and 1 other 4
Blake Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 15 pages to catch up on. I stopped at page two and decided to work backwards instead. Thumbnail sketch: Berrios gave up two runs early, there was much growsing in the comments over the inability of the Twins to hit another lefty who throws softer than Bartolo Colon. Berrios puts up zeroes, Twins chase the lefty starter, huzzah and then win it on a walk, daring baserunning play by Rosario who capped off his night by snagging a hot line drive against the left field wall. There was much rejoicing and some "what the heck was that that Rosario did" after the win. Riverbrian and DocBauer 2
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 You gotta believe Doc... You gotta believe... He can lower that ERA and it starts tomorrow. I'm an optimist at heart, so I always have to believe. Unfortunately, wouldn't take much to have faith rewarded. 3 runs in 5 IP. (Shudder) Riverbrian 1
Danchat Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 You gotta believe Doc... You gotta believe... He can lower that ERA and it starts tomorrow. But the problem is he can lower his ERA by giving up 4 runs in 6 innings... it's not hard to lower a 7.47 ERA.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 I just watched the replay on the Kepler play at the plate. He may have been out but I have no idea how they reverse that. That was flipping close. wsnydes and Platoon 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 But the problem is he can lower his ERA by giving up 4 runs in 6 innings... it's not hard to lower a 7.47 ERA. And I think he can do it!!!
