Happy May Day and welcome back to another Game Thread party!  

 

So excited to be here today.  Excited for a couple of reasons.  First, we have left the month of April behind.  It was an absolute abysmal month in Minneapolis with 22" of snow fall over a couple of days and a Twins franchise that is collapsing like a house of cards or like the acting career of Kevin Spacey. Bye, bye April!

 

The second reason for my excitement is my daughter turns 18 today.  I have three kids, two of which are now legal adults.  I can't believe how fast time goes by.  I don't even feel that old...Regardless, just wanted to throw out a happy birthday to my beautiful daughter.  

 

As I mentioned above, happy May Day!  May Day is celebrated throughout the world in numerous countries.  In the northern hemisphere it typically represents Spring and it's also an international day to recognize workers.  Some people even make May Day baskets to give friends and relatives.  I would like to suggest another way to celebrate May Day.  Let's gamble on tonights game!

 

That's right, let's gamble. Right now our team is playing so poorly we need to spice up the Game Thread tonight.  It allows us something else to cheer for and root for.  Here are the rules and format:

 

1. All bets must be placed before the end of the 2nd inning.  All prizes are awarded by me at the end of the night**.  

 

2. Any and all ties are decided by me.  

 

3. You can only bet once for each category.

 

Category #1 - Who will be the best hitter tonight for the Twins? "Pick the Click"

 

Category #2 - How many strike outs tonight for Gibson?

 

Category #3 - How many stolen bases for the Twins tonight?

 

Category #4 - How many total broken bats tonight for both teams?

 

Tie breaker category:  Total time of game

 

Remember to only bet one time for each category.  You can play all of them or just one or two.  It's up to you!  Side bets are not only allowed but encouraged.

Good to see Kepler and Rosario finally flipped in the order.  Not sure how I feel about Grossman hitting leadoff though.  It is nice to see Molitor tinker a bit more lately with the hotter hitters.

 

I don't think Gibson will have any strikeouts.  They're playing in an AL ballpark, so Morrison is going to hit for him.

Category #3 - How many stolen bases for the Twins tonight? Easy. None. Nobody reaches first base, nobody steals second.

 

Category #4 - How many total broken bats tonight for both teams? None. Toronto squares everything up, and the Twins NERF bats bend but don't break.
