But I can personally attest to it being a tad chilly Friday night, with the wind howling. I stayed for the entire four hours....there were probably 1,500 of us there at the end of the game. Saturday probably felt real nice in the sun, but as temperatures stalled out around 60, there were likely many light jackets all over the stadium. Today, temperatures will approach 70, and I think we can safely say that today represents the first truly great weather day for a ballgame. And there's no better pitcher to watch to close out a series on such a day than Jose Berrios. We are seeing him develop into a SP #1/2 right before our eyes, notwithstanding the slight hiccup in Yankee Stadium in his last start. Considering how the entire team pitched, his outing was probably a positive. Check out the kid on the other side too, though. Tyler Mahle has been a fun watch so far this season. He has bordered on dominant at times....his ERA doesn't look too impressive (an even 5.00 entering today) but he has a ton of swing and miss in his repertoire. He had Atlanta no-hit through 6 IP his last time out before unraveling in the 7th a bit. Still, he K'd 11 guys and brings some real upside into Target Field today. Hope everyone reading this is either at the game today or watching/listening outside somewhere. Too nice a day to be indoors!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Lets go Twins. JO should be able to dominate this lineup. Looking at a big day from Jose and Kepler, me thinks.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Castro catching Berrios....I really would like to see Garver play more. Twins win this one.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Legitimate question: Is Eduardo Escobar the best player on the team?
Linus Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Morneau is growing on me. Understated and he actually offers insight. I think it’s time for Bert to hang it up
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Legitimate question: Is Eduardo Escobar the best player on the team?Maybe not best. Based on performance this year I'd say Berrios. But I'd say he's MVP of April.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Man, where are those pitches missing?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Woah. Justin actually gives a legit scouting report. Nice.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Reds haven't won an interleague road series since 2013! What are the chances they start afresh after today?
drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Dozier with his lob throw on the missed double play didn't help matters
bighat Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Berrios looking pretty bad today, sorry to say it.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Dozier with his lob throw on the missed double play didn't help matters Nor did Grossman's lumbering play there in right field. Nor did Berrios' bad pitching.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Morneau is growing on me. Understated and he actually offers insight. I think it’s time for Bert to hang it upUsing California math, Bert's number hasn't been called yet.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Berrios is pitching batting practice today. He's been the only thing to which to look forward this year.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 At least Seattle is taking it to Cleveland again.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 We are losing? And with Berrios pitching? This does not compute...
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 No athlete can be at his or her peak every time. There will be days like this for any 23 year old pitcher, even one who is very talented. We can only hope that he snaps back next time and that the offense can come back and win today's game.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 At least Seattle is taking it to Cleveland again. At this point, that largely matters because we'll get a higher draft pick if Seattle finishes above us??
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 At this point, that largely matters because we'll get a higher draft pick if Seattle finishes above us??Cynic.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, Nick Kingham, in his ML debut, has a perfect game through six vs St Louis.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I was looking for forward to watching Berrios pitch. I feel I didn't get the satisfaction I was looking forward to.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Herre's a one in a bazillion shot. Yoenis Cespedes hits a home run and the ball goes right into the bullpen garbage can. https://www.mlb.com/cut4/yoenis-cespedes-homers-into-garbage-can/c-274397828
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Berrios is already getting pulled? That can't be a good sign. Now it's time to waive the white flag - aka bring out the bullpen.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 The Reds' 23-year-old is pitching circles around the Twins' 23-year-old today. They are facing different lineups. And Buxton doesn't got his back like normal. We can get back in the game. It isn't over until _____ the blank gets filled in.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Why take Berrios out already? And lord I am done with Taylor Rogers. Get him to AAA already.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I don't know what the heck happened to Rogers, but he lost the ability to get major league players got.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Rodgers stinks. Has stunk since July of 2017. We keep running him out there like he's Andrew Miller for some reason. Guy should be in Chattanooga throwing BP to other teams' prospects.
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS Houston went 3-for-4. He's hitting .333/.415/.505 (.920) since joining the Kernels. He added his fifth and sixth doubles. Explore Marek Houston News >
