Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 Agree, and if we can build on this season, and pick up some better pitching and keep everyone healthy then next year could be the one. I'll plead for one of those super bullpens like the other playoff teams have. Get that.. and look out. h2oface and jimbo92107 2
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 You mean a bullpen that pitches 300 innings and gets 450 strikeouts? That's impossible, no team could ever construct that. h2oface and LaBombo 2

It will also help if Sano can stay healthy and Trevor May can come back strong. The Twins seem to have a solid young core and now it's up to Falvine to build on that. Jerr and h2oface 2

AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 What sucks about this is the fact that this whole "the Yankees own the Twins" thing will continue...forever. h2oface 1

PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Very proud of our club. It was too bad not see Sano and Buxton finish this game, but makes me imagine the good things to come. h2oface, Jerr, Danchat and 1 other 4
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Well kind of a let down to end it, but not a big surprise. What's the odds on improving by 26 games next season?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 The Yankees are our daddy.Surely there must be better role models for us...

PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Just watched that highlight where the camera can't get Gardner into frame on that Joe Mauer liner to left field with two on. Did he really catch it? What was the cameraman's name? The producer's? The ghost of Phil Cuzzi haunts us. h2oface 1
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I'm mostly lurk and rarely post these days, but it was a fun season, and I wanted to thank all involved for making it more fun - I enjoy the content and the conversation. The ending was tough, more so because it was in the Bronx. I hate the Yankees with the white hot passion of a thousand burning suns. If this had happened in Boston or Houston, I wouldn't be nearly as ticked off as I am right now. But the future is bright. This team can score runs. The rotation and bullpen need help. Here's hoping that the postseason losing streak ends 1 year from right now. snepp and Jerr 2
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) Uhh even if erv got that strike 3 call, it would only have been out #2. Castro nearly fell over trying to catch it. He was not going to get the call. Alfonso Marquez was the least of the reasons the twins lost tonight The next batter, Castro, flew out. 3 outs - inning over. It is history. To deny how the bad ball and stike calls change game after game after game is just not paying attention and disregarding the effect it has on the outcome of game after game after game. After game after game after game. Edited October 4, 2017 by h2oface
