The line ups seem slow to come out today.

 

That is okay, because i seem uninspired, so i need the extra time. My best idea so far is an abject apology to Chief and Chitown for letting them down. And i bet i could pull it off too, but not without sufficient inspiration. No point in bunting without a runner to advance...

 

Why are line ups so important?

 

It's not like you are setting up a complex rube-goldberg machine, are you? If one batter doesn't work out, the next one just comes to the plate... Well, up until each multiple of 3 that don't work.

 

Are there other sports that are so complex with initial conditions?
