bighat Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 We signed Bartolo guys!! Egads. I was thinking about Colon today, and was kind of relieved that the Twins weren't mentioned as a potential option. I figured we'd be better off with guys like Jorge in the mix. Now, not so sure. I can't imagine Colon could be worse than Santiago at this point, for what that's worth....hmm.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Jorge is not fooling anybody but the Twins scouting department. Minor repair complete.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 At least the pen is somewhat rested.

He has been more of a semi-colon in Atlanta this year.
Minnesotatwins005 Provisional Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 So we really bring in Hildenberger into a 6 run game in the 3rd? Nice.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I don't want to be Captain Hindsight, but the jump from AA to the majors is a very big one... Jorge needs some time in AAA before he's ready. I don't think Gonsalves or Romero are going to help this rotation in 2017, but neither is Colon or most other fringe veteran guys the Twins have tried.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 At least the pen is somewhat rested. With these pitchers it might be time to go with the sword.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Felix may have been cooked tonight but he ain't done cooking yet. I was encouraged by that change of his and I think he can build off of it and we will see him down the line pitching decently for us. Just not today... or probably this year or maybe decade.

Jham Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Did Jorge lack command or does his stuff not really play? He reminded me of radke in his manner and delivery. And the moonballs come to think of it... minus the effectiveness so far.

And the moonballs come to think of it... minus the effectiveness so far. He's 23 and couldn't miss bats in the upper minors. There's a good chance his stuff may just not play. Not writing him off - but certainly not a good first impression, so far. I'd like to see Fernando Romero get a chance at some point.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 He has been more of a semi-colon in Atlanta this year. I was going to go with 'Descending Colon' but 'semi' is.... cleaner.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 We signed Bartolo guys!!We got him!! http://sports.cbsimg.net/images/visual/whatshot/Colonjiggle040914.gif
Jham Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Yes.I was afraid of that. It's hard to be even an average starter.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Atlanta had a Colonoscopy this year. Our turn!
King Provisional Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Hildenberger looks pretty intriguing as a reliever..
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Now we know what happens when El Gato does not command the lower half of the zone. Looked like they were beating up a high school pitcher.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I'd rather the Twins start coming back soon instead of waiting for the 9th to score 8 runs and win it.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Brooks Robinson gets Sanó on that. Maybe.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I love Machado as 3B... He is one of the best in the game. But... He made that play harder than it was and then got praised for it.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Brooks Robinson gets Sanó on that. Maybe. Brooks Robinson wouldn't have turned around and tried to catch the ball with his butt.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Brooks Robinson wouldn't have turned around and tried to catch the ball with his butt. At 80 years of age, I wouldn't put it past him.
