Does driving through count as visiting?

OKC isn't very interesting to drive through when going west, but I remember as a kid when riding back east on route 66, the desolate western landscape starts to green up when you get near the city, and thus I have unreasonably fond memories of the area.

This was in 1979. I lived in West Hollywood for a bit and then on Pico and Crenshaw for about 7 months while I took the bus into Hollywood to study at the Hollywood Magic shop. That doesn't exist anymore, I'm told.

 

A guy was murdered right outside the place I was living at; drug deal gone bad is my understanding.

 

I don't actually hate LA, it just pales next to San Francisco, Sacramento, and Long Beach in my memories.

I assure you, our drug deals are a lot tighter these days. Very much improved.

I was in LA once, 2003 to be exact, it's okay, the weather is nice. I stopped at the Rainbow Room with some friends and I seen the Actor Judd Nelson and Adult Film Actor Ron Jeremy sitting at a booth having some kind of meeting of the minds. I wonder what they were talking about?

I gotta wonder... how did you recognize the guy as a porno actor? Was he just hanging out?

I lived in OK for a year, Stillwater, to be exact. (This was during the Carter presidency)

 

It was my first experience with a real winter. Snow drifts, cold, etc. Granted, the snow didn't stick around but man, that wind, with nothing to stop it, chewed right through you.

 

Fun times.

Agreed. When I was down there, the Crack Dealers were very courteous and friendly. The prices were pretty good as well.

My brother went to Grad school there. Don't recall him saying much about the winters. This was maybe a few years before you were there.
