Did she just say "breakout-type" game?

I know who Bert's been hanging out with.

That K of Pujols courtesy of three inside pitches, which stopped Pujols from leaning over the plate. Keep it up, Gibbie, up and under the chin!

This time of year?

The only time Phoenix is not hot is when the pick it up and move it to British Columbia and they only do that once every 9 years.

If you ever want to know what a hot flash is like, stand out in the Phoenix midday late July sun for 10 minutes, then imagine the heat you feel externally is really emanating from inside of every part of your body, and that it turns off and on randomly, like a space heater.

This was in 1979. I lived in West Hollywood for a bit and then on Pico and Crenshaw for about 7 months while I took the bus into Hollywood to study at the Hollywood Magic shop. That doesn't exist anymore, I'm told.

A guy was murdered right outside the place I was living at; drug deal gone bad is my understanding.

I don't actually hate LA, it just pales next to San Francisco, Sacramento, and Long Beach in my memories.

LA is my 749th favorite city in the United States.

Yes, use the sunscreen. I've never used it, but went to a free screening at Hammond Stadium this spring and a couple of spots were found. The Dr told me to get to a dermatologist soon. I went last week and had some biopsy's done. Yesterday was informed that one is melanoma and go back next week to lose more skin. They didn't tell me what stage it is yet, but it's in a spot that hasn't seen the light of day for years.

I will hope with all my hope that all goes well.

Okay, hyperbole is fun, but if you ever dipped a toe in Lake Superior, then pulled out a painful, frozen toe-cube, the waters here in San Diego are NOT as cold as the mysterious -20F fluid they call water in Superior. I've been there, and I can't believe the rocks don't roll right out, it's so cold.

As for the airport in middle of town...

...hand on a sec...

...can't hear myself type...

...okay, the planes don't bother you too much after you get used to the world-renowned "OB Pause." That's where you stop mid-sentence and wait until the din dies down.

Otherwise, it's as charming as reported. Don't bother going into the ocean; then you just have to dry off, anyway. Come join us in bars, that's where all the cool kids hang out.

Yeah, I have spent plenty of time there and enjoy the city. When I moved to Chicago, it was between two locations: San Diego or Antigua Guatemala. So I went out to SD and hung out for a couple weeks to get the feel for it. Stayed at a nice Airbnb in North Park. My buddy's got a place in PB which is a decent little area. Great city for outdoor recreation. Rent prices were silly high in the areas I looked at. Decided on Guatemala and been here ever since.

I am not going to split hairs as to whether driving through counts. It is an intriguing question though.

Last fall i passed through Louisville, Kentucky, which put me in each of lower 48. Do i have life altering story from each to share? No. Nor could i tell you which has the best s'mores...

But meh, i got what i got...

I've done all 48 I'm proud to say.

Vermont was the final state to complete the life long project.

The State of Vermont did not present me with any trophies, medals or even ribbons to help celebrate the accomplishment.

That's because you have 2 left to go.

Wouldn't it be cool if Gibby just figured it out;

once and for all?

Shoot, I'd settle for him to be a yo-yo like he was in 2014 and 2015 at this point

You're renting a place in Antigua, Guatemala? Sound tre cool.

San Diego's a charming little city.  Fly into that airport and you're driving right into the heart of town in 5 minutes.  I hear they don't build airports that close to metro areas anymore, but left this little gem alone.

California's dirty little secret: the water's too damn cold.   It's like swimming in Lake Superior.  Sure, you can do it for a few months of the year, but most of the time it's frigid.  They don't mention that when they send you all those postcards with beach scenes (ps: you can't swim here!)

Yeah... I used the cold water for my personal entertainment.

We stopped in Santa Barbara. My kids were still pretty young at the time. They had been in the Atlantic in Florida but never the Pacific. The whole trip I was telling them that they were going to swim in the Pacific Ocean and they were pretty pumped. Got out of the car and I told them to run full speed into the ocean and they did.

I'm still laughing... they ran out quicker then they ran in.

Am I wrong, or is Grossman looking like a very good baseball player? He looks like he's more than just a walk machine now; he drives balls to the gaps as well as anybody. Also, his D has gotten much better. No speedster, but he takes good angles now, and seems to make fewer mistakes out there.

I have come to the conclusion that Grossman is a baseball player that can help teams win.

I tried doing that just now. Just using the heat in my house.

The TV Channel changed and the remote is 5 feet away from me.
