Game Thread: Twins vs Rockies, 5/18/17 @ 6:10 PM CT

I attended today's Twins-Rockies game  and watched our hero Erv Santana lit up for 5 runs, and the game seemed over pretty quickly. It was supposed to be Jose Berrios but alas, that ship sailed into the night game tonight.

The weather was refreshing out at Minnie & Paul's where we were so lucky as to hear from an usher about his marital problems and his attempts to pick up young, drunk women at the game. Needless to say, we didn't finish watching the game from there.....yikes.

I digress....I wrote last night's game thread starter for the inevitable rainout. I stupidly assumed that it would serve as the game thread for today's game since it was the same SPs, same lineups, etc. I sincerely apologize to those of you who missed the banter in the thread. As part of my apology, I'd like to buy you a beer. So, walk to your fridge, grab a cold one, and return. I'll wait.

You're welcome.

So tonight will bring us the same chilly weather but virtually no chance of rain. In other words, we'll take it.

We get to see Berrios build upon his last start, his best one he's had at the MLB level. As Nick Nelson tweeted prior to that start, this Twins team is quite interesting if he's at all figured this out. We'll see.

Going to keep this one brief. So join the chat below. Wanna talk about Berrios? Tyler Chatwood? Alleged reports of the sun peaking out? Inappropriate ushers? Let's go.

This is a big game for Berrios and not as much for the Twins. If he pitches like he did last time, well I will be the first to admit that he indeed has turned the corner into becoming a major league pitcher.

Now we're cooking with gas!

A real game thread intro.

Game's as good as won.

Sorry step on yer toes earlier...

You did nothing of the sort, good sir. You filled the gap. Appreciate it.

CarGo looked bewildered that a Twins pitcher had that kind of heater.

I like that sort of bewilderment. A lot.

Nice pitch by berrios and even better to not see him implode after the lead off HBP and the balk

Do I got this right? 2 innings pitched, 2 hit batters, 1 balk, 1 wild pitch and still didn't give up any runs??

The "wild pitch" was a strike three that bounced slightly away from Castro, but far enough to allow the runner to advance. The scorer has to rule something.

Going to the game. Looking for a lot of home runs and many empty seats.

Lotta empty seats behind computers of TD members as well, judging by the dearth of posts.

4 LOB in first 2 innings. Seen this movie before.

It boggles my mind that people can watch baseball and say RBI aren't a useful measure of performance.

It's like arguing peddling isn't important to riding a bike.
