Game Thread: Twins vs Rockies, 5/18/17 @ 6:10 PM CT

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Tapia looked like tilapia out there in left

that's just gross, man

[Aggies7]

7 base runners through 2 1/3. Need to come out with this ahead by more than 1

[ashbury]

Tapia looked like tilapia out there in left

Yours was better.

[Aggies7]

Yours was better.

From what I understand, tilapia is one of the worst fish you could eat.

Tastes fine to me.

[ashbury]

Is menard's like a poor man's Walmart?

No, this is not a Menard's:

[Aggies7]

Awfully hard to leave 7 men on base in 3 innings, but we're going to give it a shot

[spinowner]

Don't get overanxious here, Buck. Make him throw strikes.

[Aggies7]

Unreal.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

RBI.

They matter.

I like the new metrics but I agree deeply with this.

Think of them as situational .OPS

We will never get to hang out with the cool kids, chief.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

The guy struck out with the bases loaded. **** happens. Get em next time.

How much do they charge for items at the dollar store when they are going out of business?

Let us see how far you have come Buxton.

Not there yet.

[Aggies7]

Can we get this guy some runs for petes sake

[ashbury]

They keep track of this, you know.

[yarnivek1972]

Well, the Rockies are winning time of possession.

[Pardon My Dinger]

Is menard's like a poor man's Walmart?

Wise man's Home Depot.

[John Kelsey]

I'm sitting here giggling while watching this.

I haven't seen anything like it since Johan and Liriano.

[David HK]

E-hire!

[ashbury]

The sign in the window seems to indicate 10 for a dollar. You could probably go in and make them an offer.

[Cap'n Piranha]

I don't know that people think of them as useless, I think they're recognized as being out of the control of the batter to a sizable extent. I'd be much more interested in a stat detailing the rate at which a batter drives in runners in scoring position.

[ashbury]

Is that Latroy speaking, and did he really just say that a cross between a slider and a cutter is a slutter?

[Oldgoat_MN]

Is that Latroy speaking, and did he really just say that a cross between a slider and a cutter is a slutter?

Yes.

Yes he did.

[Cap'n Piranha]

So just for fun, I'm listening to the Rockies broadcast--their play by play guy seems to think Chatwood is getting squeezed due to a reputation for walks earned in this game, and this game alone.

[ashbury]

Well, the Rockies are winning time of possession.

So did Linda Blair, and look at the good it did her.

[Oldgoat_MN]

Grossman is an OBP guy.

If they won't walk him he will even resort to getting a hit!

[Aggies7]

Wise man's Home Depot.

I hear that Caribou is a poor mans Dunkin

[ashbury]

Yes.

Yes he did.

I picture Dick Bremer giving him the fingertips across the throat signal to drop it.

[spinowner]

Yes.

Yes he did.

Rookie mistake. Some baseball slang should stay out of the broadcast booth.

[Pardon My Dinger]

Mayer sure does grab his crotch a lot...must be hiding a glob of pine tar down there.
