David HK Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Technically it wasn't a wild pitch because the runner did not advance.Had he raised his head from his 2nd base pillow, he would have. I guess we could call it a 'wild pitch opportunity.'
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 They played "let's give them something to talk about" yeah how bout another loss!
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 It's totally precious that the Rays are having a meeting on the mound like they're super worried about a big Twins rally. What a polite bunch of guests. And they did it again now in the 9th, as if they're afraid that the Twins would come back from a 4 run deficit with 2 outs hahahaha
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Technically it wasn't a wild pitch because the runner did not advance.great, and per twinsnorth49, I just opened a tab
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Well, a tiny silver lining in this gi-normous thunder cloud today. Nice to see Bux squaring that one up. I'm still kind of happy every time he goes to the plate without conking himself in the head. On the other hand, it looked like the only reason he slid into second on his stolen base was to avoid showing up the catcher and pitcher. What a polite young man. And neat too.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Oh one of those!I haven't seen one of those in ages and I missed it!#&:@#!&@*}# !I remember the first time I saw a wild pitch during an intentional walk..it was then I realized why pitchers have to throw the ball rather than just awarding the base.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Man, our one All Star had a heck of a good AB there.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 A 10 pitch AB for Nuñez that ends in a walk, nicely done. Too bad it's during garbage time.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I remember the first time I saw a wild pitch during an intentional walk..it was then I realized why pitchers have to throw the ball rather than just awarding the base. And isn't this something that the competition committee has discussed changing?
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Twins have the tying run on deck in Les Nessman Brian Dozier
jimmer Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 And isn't this something that the competition committee has discussed changing?yes
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 They played "let's give them something to talk about" yeah how bout another loss!Nah, that one's been beat to death.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 This is a save situation now, right? Because the tying run is in the on-deck circle? Or am I remembering the rule wrong.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 And isn't this something that the competition committee has discussed changing? No idea, but I think eliminating throwing the ball for an intentional walk is foolish.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Twins have the tying run on deck in Les Nessman Brian DozierI'd say Ted Baxter. Better hair.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 great, and per twinsnorth49, I just opened a tabOk, to be clear I said "run a tab". Not Open a http://drinks.seriouseats.com/assets_c/2011/11/20111115-tab-primary-thumb-625xauto-199615.jpg

LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I'd say Ted Baxter. Better hair. And Dozier is every bit as flexible and adaptable at the plate as Ted was in the anchor chair.
