For those counting at home, that is now TWO "doubles" that a "good" RF would have caught.

I may very well have a short memory, but there are very few first series of the year that stand out to me as being well played by our team. We seem to stink, hard, for the first week of the season. Have to wonder what's up (if this continues).

One, the one against the wall Monday was questionable

This is infinitely worse than the Lavine at PG experiment.

It's on par with the Josh Freeman at QB experiment.

I will say Sano has a cannon. Hopefully he'll make runners think twice about advancing home to make up for the ugliness.

he's been having issues hitting cutoff guys (like tentative throws) and some offline throws to bases. like Gomez when we had him, a very good arm doesn't matter if you can't get it where it's supposed to go.

Good effort by Sano, but with the late jump, he definitely should have played that ball differently. Not writing him off yet as we all knew he'd make mistakes. It's a part of the learning process. It's game two. If he's still making these kinds of decisions in September, then we should be more concerned.

Actually, no right fielder catches the first double, and the second one is likely a single, first and third.

We can be critical of Sano's play in right field without inventing things.

two today (I just got home in time to see that disaster occur)?

Trying to pick someone off at 3rd is the dumbest thing ever. Nobody is gonna steal home with 2 outs.

If Suzuki was on the mound they would.

that one should have been an out.  He reads the ball right and breaks accordingly, it's caught.

Hicks would have caught it.

That double wasn't even hit that hard the other day, it looked worse because for some reason Sano took his first two steps IN on that one. That "Double" opening day gets caught by a good RF.

Maybe management shouldn't be so darn scared of hosting a game on real opening day, rather than improving their odds of good weather by a minuscule amount and starting at home one week later.

Nothing's on par with that train wreck of a QB. You or me could have made better throws than him in his lone Vikings appearance.

No way, its ugly and going to be ugly but at least he isn't in control of things like a pg is.  Not agreeing with the decision but there are plenty of big bat bad glove corner outfielders.
