Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Preview:Kyle Gibson (11-11, 3.84 ERA) vs. Yovani Gallardo (13-11, 3.42 ERA) Lineups: http://www.baseballpress.com/lineups Twins (0-1):TBD Orioles (1-0):1. Manny Machado ® 3B2. Adam Jones ® CF3. Chris Davis (L) 1B4. Mark Trumbo ® RF5. Matt Wieters (S) C6. Pedro Alvarez (L) DH7. J.J. Hardy ® SS8. Jonathan Schoop ® 2B9. Joey Rickard ® LF Yay! Baseball is back! After a heartbreaking 9th inning loss the Twins get a mulligan on opening day I figure. Today's matchup features the same Orioles lineup we saw on Monday and... not sure about the Twins' yet. Two teams that figure to strikeout a ton each facing pitchers that don't strike anyone out. And a hitters park to boot. I predict fireworks. Pick to click anyone? A "click" is what happens when a player does really well in a ballgame. I'll take whoever the Twins have batting today in the three spot. I dunno maybe its Sano, maybe someone else I dunno. A "click" can have other meanings too. The urbandictionary defines it as a kilometre (about 0.63 miles) Vietnam War slang. Eg. "Wal-marts about ten clicks from hya." So Wal-Mart's about 10 kilometres from hya. Make a note for when you're in Vietnam and need to re-stock on trail mix. Enjoy the game everyone!

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Does Bert have the day off for his birthday? I think most of us have today off, since Bert was able to have it made into a National Holiday.
70charger Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Well, this one is too late for me, but I have a few predictions. Gibson doesn't strike out a ton of guys but get enough ground balls to be effective for 6 innings. Dozier hits the Twins' first. Mauer gets another couple hits. I'm just happy baseball is back.
nokomismod Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Win this for Merle Frickin Haggard Twins!
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I get to watch baseball, and see the snow fall out the window. I really hope Bert took the day off.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Kind of a blech day, so I'm just going to watch.
T.C. Provisional Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 The bats are going to be on fire today. Plouffe is going to have a big night.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I think Joe goes Yard today, and has a nice 3-4 day.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 How much longer before Buxton's WHIFF- A- Thon get's him out of the starting line-up and Danny Santana in it? Molitor has a long leash, but Buxton has to start showing some progress that he can hit a slider or a curveball or at least lay off bad one's. I'm not a proponent of starting Santana over Buxton but at some point Buck is going to have to start getting on base, to keep his glove in the line-up everyday. We are one game into the season, you understand that right?
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 We are one game into the season, you understand that right? So that would be a very short leash?

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Dozier just needs to go 5-5 to be batting .500 on the year

DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Positives: The Twins appear to have found a solution to their hitting-into-DPs problem.by striking out instead?
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 by striking out instead? 2 outs before you can get a guy on base?
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Why are the corner outfielders so deep? They should be playing in....
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Had they actually been shifted, with Escobar on the RF side, that's an out.
