I'm rooting hard for the Mets, but I think the Royals high contact lineup will win them this series in 5 games. Those "Kansas City Specials" are demoralizing.

Something needs to be done NOT to take the postseason into November. Bang-bang-bang playoff games the first two rounds.

It seems to be counterproductive to have a weekend without baseball before starting you Big Event on a Tuesday (Monday Night football and ALL football be damned!). Can we say "Momentum-tum-tum killer!"

I don't know he answer. But am a firm believer that playoff games CAN be played at the same time as each other as they have appeal morso to subset of fans.

Royals and Mets. Will be an interesting series. Royals in five!

I keep thinking back to NLDS game 5 when Collins brought in Sundegaard and he just lit up the Dodgers. And then Familia finished out the final 6 outs. I think Collins will do that again with one or two of his aces before the end of the WS. Prediction, the Royals play brilliant defensively and on the bases but lose to overwhelming pitching in 7 games.

Hoping for the Royals to win it. But the Mets starting pitching is a great equalizer. The Royals bullpen is minimized if the Mets SP keeps it very close. But Royals in 7, just by the hair on my chinny chin chin!

Way back in July, I put money on KC, in Las Vegas, to win the series. I thought all season that KC was on a mission.

So, not only do I think KC will win it, I put money on it.

Vested interest, as it were.

I think it could go either way. But I'll say KC in  7. In 7 is as close to 'either way' as it comes.

Tonight, the 2015 World Series begins with the Kansas City Royals facing the New York Mets. The Royals are representing the American League Central Division.

So, here's your chance... what are your predictions for the World Series?

I'm saying Mets in 5 games...

Royals are the best AL matchup to counter the Mets' pitching, both the starters and Familia (whose sinker is absolutely ridiculous and filthy). The biggest issue for the Mets will be missing by far their best infield defender in Ruben Tejada. With the Royals speed and contact focus, that could lead to a lot of extra hits trickling through the infield, especially up the middle with the poor defensive combination of Daniel Murphy and Wilmer Flores.

Mets are one of the better NL matchups for the Royals in that their hitters are noted for their ability to handle high velocity stuff, and once you get into the Royals bullpen, which is their biggest strength, it's a whole lot of velocity that most teams struggle with. The Mets can attack that velocity in their lineup. They'll need another elite offensive performance like Daniel Murphy gave in order to have a chance.

I'm taking Royals in 6, but I expect a good series.

I can see the case for either team winning this one.  So, complete shot in the dark...

Mets in 6.

I predict there is no game tonight. (Raining in KC with no indications of stopping.)

My source: a MLB staffer (they are in my hotel) was very unsure; hoping, but unsure.

Buzzkill Chitown.

I blame you.

Buzzkill Chitown.

I blame you.

See my edit above. What can I say ... I stepped off the plane here in KC to rain. While not heavy, it's remained consistent.

I know more KC fans (like 3-0), so I guess I'm pulling for NY so I don't have to listen to them and read their overly happy FB posts......or maybe I want that. I guess I don't care, just want good games.
