Mortimerkenny21 Verified Member Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Let's keep this momentum going, we have to keep our foot on the gas! Bradley seems like the right guy to have on the mound for that. Some solid defense and timely hitting like last night is a winning recipe. Go Twins!! HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Lewis sitting for Bell second game back. Lewis needs to be in there every day, Bell should have his glove taken away. Bell doesn't hit lefties that well, and they want us to believe they are contenders. RpR 1

Clemens shouldn't be in there and having Bell out of the lineup isn't the end of the world. If you are going to make Clemens and Bell your cornerstone players, we might as well sell off at the deadline. And I thought defense was supposed to a point of emphasis and yet there is Bell with a glove. Western SD Fan and RpR 1 1

Lewis will be here after the trade deadline, and maybe there is an actual market for Bell behind the scenes that we just don't see. Hell, we were able to trade Ty France last year when it looked like there was no market for him, so anything is possible. Otherwise, it is foolish to have Bell over Lewis. As Lewis showed last night, he has made tremendous efforts to learn the position. I don't think there is much of a difference in either offensive output and I'd rather have Lewis's defense than Bell's. EDIT: That makes a bit more sense on why Bell is in there now. Stinks for Lewis. Hopefully, it's not a long-term setback. Mike Sixel and HarmonK03 1 1

He still did pregame activities on the field today, but he felt his hamstring tighten up running to first during his eighth-inning groundout Friday. Saxophone Joe and Church of Kreidler 2

Have'nt they already gone down the Hendricks road?
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Went to the game last night. First time at Wrigley. It was packed. Reminded me a bit of Fenway. It is wild that there are bleacher seats on the roofs of buildings on Sheffield and Waveland across the street. From behind home plate it looks like they are a part of the stadium. Did not think the game was going to go the Twins’ way after Bailey put the first two runners on first and third in both of the first two innings. To get out of those jams with one total run was improbably impressive and/or lucky. The double play turned by Lewis was an interesting choice (stepping on first first), and if the runner holds up at second, the run scores before he is tagged. Keep the momentum going, would be great to get a series road win against a tough NL opponent.

He was in camp at spring training and was released since he wasn't going to make the team. But we have all seen this nostalgia tour before with many players and hoping that they don't do it here as the bullpen has been performing better as of late.

That would be my guess - gotta DH a catcher now and then, and you don't want to be seen benching a guy you want to entice someone to take.

I was also going to speculate that Shelton was benching Lewis because he hasn't had a base hit since July 11. (All Star break? Details, schmetails.) Church of Kreidler 1
