mrguy Verified Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I might chalk that first inning to debut nerves in a kind of tense situation, that was a much more efficient inning. I'd be curious if they let him out for one more now that he's settled down a bit(might as well to maintain your "higher leverage bullpen arms" if those exist lol). Church of Kreidler 1

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Right. Looking forward to another losing streak in the future with these two announcers, who apparently, are the bad luck team, who voice excuses with the best of them.

All the while, opposing teams throw pitching debuts at us with great frequency, and we are Minnesota Nice and make them consistency look like the next Cy Young candidate. We offer any excuse we can come up with for our inept debuts, but facilitate the other team’s. Blyleven2011, Tlaker and IndyTwinsFan 2 1

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Last Monday morning Twins 26-28 all positive vibes about Sweeping da Red Sox- maybe Making it back to .500,, And BOOM -Reality 27-33, i started to 2nd guess my 60-102 prediction and was Jumping back on the Bandwagon- Can anyone explain there plan , its all we ask . got 100 games left , 1 positive ? i did bet BIG on under 73 wins - Go Twins
jaimedude Verified Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 This team is being run by ownership that cannot pick good leaders in clubhouse or front office. Twins have not drafted well in nearly 7 or 8 years already. For a franchise that needs to develop talent it is a death spiral of losing. Who would think 2023 was the high water mark for the decade. HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Any hope that changes might happen tomorrow with Outman just vanished with his pinch hitting appearance.
mrguy Verified Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 After that rough situation to be put in for you debut, Paredes settled in well overall. 3.2IP, 2H, 1ER, 3BB, 3K with the 3 walks being the most he's given up in a game this year. Obviously just filling space for now and will end up back in St. Paul soon-ish, but not a bad debut. Patzky, Church of Kreidler and IndyTwinsFan 3

I know he doesn't get a lot of opportunity, but Outmans swings are late on everything. Larnach is listless, and lost cause just like Wallner, not gonna do it here. IndyTwinsFan 1

Twindy Verified Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 If scores hold the way they are right now today it would be the second straight day that the White Sox are the only team that won a game in our division. Could’ve made some hay if we’ve done something here at Pittsburgh, but of course there’s plenty of reasons why we didn’t.

Yep, Twins are basement dwellers, regardless of how hard they try or compete. A lot of un-competitive plate appearances this weekend. Pitching and defense really let them down though as much as hitting. Hard to judge major league staff and Shelton even though I don't like the current roster. There is a real lack of MLB talent on Twins. They need to try some different people, and clear out some players, not performing well, the current mix is poor. Larnach has had a rough two weeks but I am not sure he is at Wallner's level yet. I am waiting for ERod and Jenkins to get healthy to replace him or least reduce his playing time. jaimedude and Church of Kreidler 2

jaimedude Verified Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I like Josh Bell and Orlando Arcia but I would try and flip them now, when both are hitting because they are on one year deals. This is not a playoff team. IndyTwinsFan 1

This is not a playoff team. No one will want them, Washington had no takers for him last year at the trade deadline and his numbers are worse this year. He doesn't hit enough for a full time DH which is all he is. You can easily move on from these guys if the front office really had a plan. But they are just winging it day by day. jaimedude and Parfigliano 2
