My biggest annoyance with the 2026 Twins is how fuggin’ boring they are. Be good, be bad, but don’t be boring.

But two players that legitimately interest me are Taj Bradley and Mick Abel.

That will change by later in the year. Until some personnel changes occur (that could be as far away as July or even next season) Twins fans will need to find the good in each game. That and watch some minor league games. I'm just going to enjoy whatever I can.

Clemens leading off is a choice…

Clemens1B

BuxtonCF

Keaschall2B

WallnerRF

BellDH

JeffersC

LarnachLF

Lewis, R3B

Lee, BSS

It's valid if Martin isn't playing. Would like to see something out of Bell and Lee today; might actually put Larnach higher in the order here.

The Orioles couldn't do much with Ryan's control and curve. Taj is another guy entirely!  Cold weather in effect today..

What is the fascination with Clemens, he is a role player and should get 200 AB's for the year.  I know it is only the second game of the year but it really feels like they want Clemens to be a semi regular player.  He had one good three week stretch in his whole career and that was last year.  Martin earned a chance to be playing every day and should be given the chance but I don't think it's going to happen.

Yikes, Clemens in the lead-off spot? And we brought back Larnach just for him to hit 7th in an already weak lineup? Ugh... they may as well have let Roden start in LF and if that failed, start trying out the top prospects. Rodriguez, Gonzalez, and Jenkins are close... just makes zero sense how this roster was constructed. I'm going to give Shelton a grace period as the roster construction is not on him, but at some point when Clemens is hitting .200 in May, that's more when Shelton should be doing his best to keep him out of the lineup.

Questions still unanswered - Will Culpepper, Rodriguez, Gonalez or Walker be called up to be PPI eligible in the next week or two.  Most likely not,  Culpepper has the highest probability in my mind.

Lewis at 8th again,  they are either trying to take off all stress or they no longer believe in him.  Larnach should have not been tendered a contract.

One good three week stretch makes you a legit TC ASG player this year.

Clemens and his career .283 OBP leading off. Fun!

I guess we’re done with that analytic stuff. I know Danny Gladden struggled to get on base back in the day, but that was when you measured lead off hitters by stolen bases. What is the qualifying stat now? Cy Young awards by your father?

If batting 8th is a problem for him , in his head, then he should find a different job.

When Gonzalez gets here, that will be interesting.

They’ll probably put the ‘fun’ roster together after all these AAAA vets lose enough for fans to tune out.

Seems the smart move would have been to have the fun roster up when the team was still in contention, you know, early in the year.

Gray making the roster instead of Arcia being added makes me think this is possible. Still unlikely, but possible.

Rewriting a previous poorly worded post: I agree that it's a stretch to bat Clemens leadoff, but if Shelton wants Buxton and Keaschall to hit 2-3 somebody has to bat first. Clemens had a nice spring training, so that is who Shelty is going with. To be consistent, the same people convinced the Lewis is a bust based on his 40 plate appearances this spring should be certain that Clemens is a decent choice to hit first in the questionable Twins' lineup due to an equally small number of PAs.

Problem is a sad one. Clemens is one of the best hitters on the roster. Until we bring up a bunch from St Paul, he is what we have. Who is better except for Keaschall or Buxton? Certainly not Wallner. Lee, Bell, Lewis etc., etc.

No Clemens is not one of the better hitters on the team, he had a decent spring training but he has no upside.  He was a waiver pickup riding his three week hot streak to immortality with the Twins.

But still, one of the best hitters on the team. Name 5 better.

Why not challenge that 2-0 pitch? He couldn't tell it was 6 inches high?

The strike to Luke also. There's gonna be a psychology behind using this system..

Challenge ?/  when ?  if Clemens did he had a 3-0 count,  - i get ya wanna save em but letting the umpire off the hook early only means  ??  same on the Luke a.b.  would rather see more aggressive  at the start  !!!
